Can Alvarez Do Anything Besides Set-Reset High Speed Sharpshooting From The Outside?

I think that he heard the score cards so thus didn't have to push for it too hard.
He is 22 and has many years to improve on. He said it himself, the better the opponent, the better he will be.Comment

Agenda? And the hidden agenda came to surface. You believe that Canelo cannot win against Mayweather and Sergio on the outside and by not beating Trout on the inside he's showing us a weakness that will be used against Sergio or Mayweather. They still have to step in the ring with him though.
You're everything that's wrong with these types of forums, pesticid. It is YOU that has Alvarez listed as one of your FAVORITE FIGHTERS right there in your signature for everyone to see. WHO IS PRESSING AN AGENDA, fangirl? WHO? WHO?

What world are you living in, where you think Canelo outboxed Trout?
This site taught me one thing last night. TONS of Canelo fans.Comment

Well you said that Alvares doesn't have an in-fighting game and then I gave you two examples in Josesito and Shane, but apparently they are not good examples because both Josesito and Shane and inside fighters duh. Josesito was moving away from Alvarez trying not to fight inside with Alvarez, it didn't matter though, Canelo cut all corners on him trapped him and damaged him. Shane received the biggest beat-down of his career, ON THE INSIDE.Comment

This site is full of agenda and BS. Nothing new. I came onto this site last night, fully expecting, "Trout got robbed", or "Trout never stood a chance with GBP/Showtime", but instead I found out Canelo has a MUCH bigger fan base than I originally thought.Comment

In all fairness, Trout is a tough fighter to get inside against. Miguel Cotto couldn't get inside on him very easily either, and Cotto managed to get inside against Mayweather at times. Canelo has shown in previous fights that he can pressure when he needs to, in this fight he opted to box. As soon as the fight started he went onto the back foot, it looked to me like that was his game plan.
I was surprised, however, that he never really managed to get inside throughout the fight. But, as I said, Trout has shown in the past that he's a hard guy to pin down. I wouldn't put down Canelo's ability on the front foot on the basis on this fight alone.
That said, obviously he isn't ready for Mayweather or Martinez yet. He's only 22, and those guys are both long established champions. I could see him giving Mayweather some problems, with his size and strength, but at this point he still gets outboxed. I'd give him very little chance against Sergio though, I don't think he'd be able to get inside against his jab and movement, and Serio is bigger and stronger... not to mention has a lot of power. It's not really a knock against Saul though. The fact that people are mentioning him fighting such top tier guys at his age shows how good he is, and he has time to improve.Comment

You're a big Canelo fan. I get it. Thanks. And NO. I did not say Canelo "doesn't have an inside fighting game." Personally, I'd like to see him collapse on his opponents more if he's ever again in a situation like he was last night. All he has to do is take a few steps forward, shorten up and fire more often. I'd like to see him making more adjustments in the future.Well you said that Alvares doesn't have an in-fighting game and then I gave you two examples in Josesito and Shane, but apparently they are not good examples because both Josesito and Shane and inside fighters duh. I see what you are saying.
Trout started the fight really good using his jab and keeping him at a distance and by the 3rd Canelo had already made an adjustment and kind of neutralized Trouts jab.
At that point I thought Canelo was going to start working the body and using his jab more and start throwing combinations but instead he only was just throwing power punches and re loading and trying to land that big over right hand.
I thought Canelo's only inside work came when Trout found a little success at closing the distance and found his way inside. I dont think it was Canelo the one that chose to fight inside. I think it was a result of Trout trying to stay busy and trying to do more inside. Maybe Canelo had more intentions of working inside but Trout did a good job of keeping him at a distance and alert. But I think Canelo was bombing away and reloading also because he was having success doing it.
Trout threw 2 different jabs.
First few rounds he was trying to keep him at a distance and set up , and was making Canelo back up.
In the last rounds he was just trying to keep Canelo away more than anything with that jab. He was throwing it like a sling shot and pulling back.Comment
