Money Mayweather is fighting Canelo Next Year, Does 2 Million buys

On Cinco De Mayo, book it.......Alvarez looked meh enough that Mayweather will go after this fight. Why the hell not? ortiz was only 6 lbs lighter than canelo so dont give me the weight excuse, it's the biggest money fight out there and IMO it would be an easy night for mayweather

next year, does 2 million buys without much trouble.

Please ***** could legit get a 60 million dollar pay day and won't fight Canelo, people think Floyd is someone who doesn't know who his opponents are, I bet he has files about potential opponents and he knows what I know that Canelo is his biggest threat behind Martinez.

martinez will never happen because of HBO. garcia will never happen because of Haymon. Canelo has a tune up late in the year to get ready for the floyd fight in may next year. This is really the only thing that makes sense

It could probably eclipse oscar-floyd numbers. Think about it, at the time floyd wasn't as popular as he is now although he was p4p. He wasn't bringing numbers while oscar was. Canelo is already a popular fighter. Him and floyd will do record breaking numbers.

agreed. there is no reason for this fight not to happen. canelo is vulnerable enough and floyd is smart enough to take it

Floyd-Canelo would do astronomical numbers. I saw the crowd last night, and I was shocked that it wasn't on PPV.

            That was a PPV crowd.

People underestimate the impact that first 24/7 had on the May/ODL ppv numbers. That was one hell of a promotional novelty - plus the dichotomy of the Golden Boy hispanic vs. the brash p4p African American, and it was just the perfect storm for ppv gold.

If May and Canelo fight they'll do 1.5 to 1.7 million buys, imo. Canelo is no Golden Boy, and Showtime is no HBO.

That fight would have been lucky to sell 300,000 on ppv. Canelo and Cotto will be a PPV fight, as will Canelo and Mayweather obviously, and maybe if Canelo moves up to MW and faces Chavez jr, and Martinez, but Canelo vs. anyone but those names is not ppv, imo.

I would not have bought that last night if it were ppv, and I'm not even sure I would buy Cotto vs. Canelo either. Canelo's fights are interesting right now because the Mayweather fight potentially looms, but other than that, this kid has a lot more to show and do before he's a bona fide PPV fighter.

No argument. But I don't see it beating ODL/Floyd or even getting real close.

Maybe if Canelo goes on to KO Cotto, but who will Floyd next to build momentum? Alexander? Khan?

I think if Floyd looks good against Guerrero and doesn't take a lot of punishment, we'll see Floyd vs. Canelo next. Floyd's ppv numbers are going to be somewhat soft for him against Guerrero which will cost him bonus money, and lots of it, so I see him taking the biggest fight out there, which is Canelo considering Pac and Arum aren't realistic options.

Floyds next fight if he beats Guerrero will be against Canelo, and imo, it will bring in 1.7 million buys or so which will be a blockbuster, but not May/Pac or May/ODL type numbers.
