Yeah I know it use more as a measuring tool, but Trout used it as a primary weapon and was hardly throwing anything behind it. He stuck it out a lot but just didn't throw much behind it.

If he was actually setting up left hands then yes it's OK but I wouldn't sit there and say he's controlling the fight when A.) He hardly was able to set anything up behind it. B.) Canelo slipped the ones that were suppose to land. C.) He got countered over it by harder, stiffer jabs.
