i don't know what fight you were watching. trout stood there and let canelo get away with alot of amateurish moves. mayweather won't do that plus he'll counter that slow crap canelo was throwing.had trout been more offensive mind.he would have easily beaten canelo. mayweather will clearly knock canelo out with a counter punch if he leaves himself wide open like he did last night.

LOL yea he did those amateurish moves on a pro level like a boss. and apparently it was in slow motion since your implying he was slow then yes. i was amused yet amazed how easy he made it look. you're forgetting Trout had a longer reach but failed to implement that jab jab strategy even when Canelo's hands were down. if "no doubt" was more offensive then he would've been face down on that canvas. every time he threw something big Canelo would explode with a counter & hurt him badly. Last night, Oscar spoke at great length about how to unlock the "Mayweather Code" with the jab. Grant it, ODLH did have great success with his jab for the 1st half of the fight until Floyd adjusted and ODLH gassed out. The problem with ODLH advice is that Canelo's jab is not great.

The Goldenboy did not stop jabbing because he gassed (he actually sustained himself throught the fight stamina wise)...he stopped jabbing because Money adjusted and took it away from him.

Doesn't the Goldenboy think that other fighters have tried to jab Money? No success.

Angel did have success with the Jab but Money had so much more in his arsenal that Angel still didn't win even when he was jabbing. After the 9th round, Angel stopped doubling up on the his jabs (I've counted 8 pull counter Money his Angel with) before the 9th.

Floyd can definitely outbox Canelo but Canelo would for sure pose a threat with his size and power, if floyds legs really don't have it in them anymore to move nimbly for 12 rounds, he is in trouble because while he can out box Canelo even with using less movement and going to the ropes, being in front of a guy with 15-20 lbs on you for 12 rounds is very very tiring and Canelo has good timing and combinations as well as solid power so this could shape up as a really interesting fight, have to see how Floyd looks against Guerrero.

Don't expect him to look any different than he looked against Ortiz. That fight won't show us anything since he won't really need to use his legs in order to beat Guerrero. If he plans on fighting in September against an orthodox boxer, then we'll know if his legs are really gone for sure.

exactly!!! green k sent, the funniest thing of it all is that canelo was trying to show out his floyd like skills last night, except floyd counters far more and with accuracy!! hes slick and all but you gotta throw back more than a couple bombs to win the round, if fights were scored on defense then canelo won, he did alot of things young floyd likes to do and they love it! but if floyd slips punches on the ropes and moves around they call it running when floyd actually throws and lands way more smh

i see ortiz at the time floyd fought him as a tougher challenge than robert, maybe im wrong tho we ll see soon enough

How do I know when a fighter poses a legitimate threat to Floyd Mayweather? When his fans come out in flocks to bash and critique the other guy and play offense with a million reasons why Floyd would K.O. or outbox the other guy. We've seen this for Pacquaio, Martinez, Paul Williams, and now Canelo...what do all of these guys have in common..they have an advantage over Floyd in terms of power and some in terms of reach and size. If you hold a belt at 154 defend that belt or vacate it...problem solved...at some point you are going to have to fight the legit men of that division and not some 147lb guy who just happened to move to 154 to take a title from a beatable guy in his decline.

Your fighter is nothing special. 3-4 years ago, Floyd would have made him look silly in the ring.
