Before the main event last night I said that I rooted for Trout but that he didn't have a good chance of winning. Trout is very basic IMO. Canelo is VERY strong and so far that has been the key in his fights.
Lopez didn't really make any mistakes against Canelo - he covered up well, got trapped in the ropes a few times, but Canelo was just punching through his guard because of power (read: size) - nothing else. I haven't seen the last nights main event yet but I'm also afraid that Canelo will punch through Floyd's defense because of his size only, not technique, rings smarts or pure skill.
Floyd won't fight Canelo and he shouldn't. Canelo should fight guys his size.
No matter what though, Canelo's first real test was last night and he passed it. I don't know how good he looked though because I haven't seen the fight yet.Last edited by Main Source; 04-21-2013, 01:30 AM.Comment

Canelo has trained there before and his stamina has ALWAYS looked the same. Only reason it looked worst today was because he was hit by a real JMW, a light hitting one, but a real one nonetheless.Originally posted by AvoidDisasterQuote:

But after last night I'll go back to my original thought, Mayweather schools and embarrasses Canelo.
This kid is 22 years old and trains in big bear and starts gassing after 4 rounds. What type of sense does that make? He doesn't put punches together. He threw combinations for the first 3 rounds then he was just started throwing/hitting Trout with 1 punch at the time. If Mayweather is good at something that's taking away and anticipating punches from his opponent. So one punch at the time isn't gonna cut it.
This kid is obviously after a paycheck. There's no way in hell he beats Mayweather.
Didn't train in Big Bear...

Mayweather takes fights when he sees an opnening. He saw one last night, the same flaws we've all seen for a while now. He will take it.Originally posted by lieutenantCanelo wants the fight. He called him out in the post fight interview. Will Floyd take it? If he doesn't he's ducking him because it's the biggest money fight out there.

Don't agree. Not saying Trout is better then Floyd but you can't judge what happened vs Trout and say Canelo would be "easy work" lol for $$$. Size difference and Trout is s southpaw. Look at Cotto, he gave Floyd a better fight then he gave Trout.Comment
