Trout was crazy to take this fight in Texas -- he had no chance to win except for a KO, and even then some way would have probably been found to give him the win -- someone please explain how Trout could outpunch him over 12 rounds by a fairly wide margin and still end up basically losing the fight by the end of the 8th round according to the 3 blind mice judges who should have been sitting with all the other Canelo fanatics in the stands -- maybe Canelo won by a couple of points and maybe he didn't but don't tell me he dominated that fight as reflected in the so-called judges' scorecards -- even the announcers who were clearly pro Canelo all had it close

Trout had no chance in TX but the man things as I saw it, other than the win was Cristandolus ridiculous score...he is on WBA governors board & should not judge...based on his terrible view he show not b alloed in the US...

        So happy Austin Trout lost!
The Yankee-doodle-doos were hyping him up to be the next hype-job like Andre "billy goat" Ward, if you're American you're automatically thought as a world beater.

Canelo won on rounds (7-5) and actually hurt few times Trout (besides the knock down). Austin threw more punches but was forced to miss a lot of jabs because Canelo can slip punches. If Trout had been effective then a guy with a pale skin like Saul should have shown clear damage (specially in the face like Donaire shown last week) but this wasn't the case. Some haters of Alvarez were forecasting that Trout would destroy Saul's face and/or the fight would be a TKO for Austin stopping it on cuts. The most effective of the two fighters was the deserving winner and Trout knew it and accepted it.

I don't want to give this ginger any credit, but it was a close fight and the knock down might have been the difference. Texas sitting is atrocious though

I was always criticizing Canelo for not fighting ANY real top of the line 154 pounders & for not living up to the hype & for having everything served on a silver platter by Sulaiman & DLH, they easily helped pave his way to a world title & to bulk up his record..So last night I was rooting for Trout.. But Canelo did way better than I could ever imagine, he had better defense(head movement & slipping punches) & better stamina(in past fights I've seen him get tired in early rounds) & this fight he took on a Top of the line title holder that has proven himself in Trout & Canelo went heads up with him & stood his ground!Even though Trout threw more & landed more, Canelo did land the harder & better shots(one could notice better when Canelo's shots landed)& hurt Trout a few times & even scored a knockdown..Trout never manage to hurt or at least stop Canelo on his tracks. Most of the fight was very close & even after the knockdown Trout did enough to even things up except that he clearly lost that 11th round & plus the knockdown & to Me that made the difference & I saw it 115-112 for Canelo..Now the judge(Stanley Christodoulou) that saw it 118-109 must have received a extremely NICE DONATION by "Golden Boy" productions & had scored it before the fight even started!! Like Malignaggi said when he heard how Christodoulou had it after the 8th, "I don't know what fight he watching, but he might as well score the next 4 rounds for Canelo"! But even though it was very close & I could see people having Trout win or even a draw, it was a good fight & Canelo showed a lot more that what some people(like Me) gave him credit for..Just like Rigondeaux did last week!

Even if Canelo made Trout miss a lot, he still landed jabs on Canelo often and out worked him.

Canelo's punch output is s**t and his conditioning is awful.
And what did Trout land ? He was just jabbing like a girl. He was taller that helped him. If Trout said he was gonna beat canelo, why didn't he take more risks? Oh, and he got knocked down and made us all laugh. viva canelo!!!!

To get a decision in Texas, Trout would've had to look thoroughly convincing BUT he didn't. Instead he looked average...period.

Canelo HAS to start preparing himself to go 12 rounds if need be, though.

I had trout winning but I knew he wasnt going to win with that type of performance. Texas continues to establish itself as "garbage square" for fair fights though.

After the Rigo, and Bradley fights I started to believe boxers would always be favored by judges even if their opponents were honestly chopping their guts and heads off. The Canelo fight restores that faith in a Professional boxing match where the more effective fighter rocks the opponent, sends him crashing to the ground or simply brings the fight. Too many runners now think being paid to win rounds by pitty pat jabs and pot shot punches while avoiding a fight ought to be the norm in a Professional boxing match.

See how Trout looked amazing going for the knockout knowing he was behind in the scorecards? It was a thing of beauty. That's how the difference was made too. Left to his instincts to survive Trout could not and so lost his belt. He was made to look desperate and ineffective missing punches in bunches fro all people by a non-American 22 year old kid. Yeah boy admit it he looked like a fool.

So stop hating people this is professional boxing. Too many Rigos, Bradleys, and Floyds doing sprints in the ring and occasionally shot potting through 12 rounds of boring amateur-like mentality. Hope Vegas and New York will follow suit. Just imagine Floyd being forced to run after his opponent, chop his head off to retain that precious 0. I might just become a Floyd fan even if he loses that fight.
