Just got back from the fight. I didnt score the fight, but from what I saw(shot out to Vers for hookin me and Mrs. Chief up with the box suite seats )Canelo clearly won the fight. Trout either didnt show up, or underestimated Canelo. It is safe to say that Canelo now owns 154. Good night for Boxing, now Im bout to watch the fight and score it from the DVR.

But it comes down to this, he didn't want to flush the Floyd fight down the drain with an overly dominant performance, which is why it is my opinion that he made it close by design. Even when questioned about the potential fight, he didn't seem to want to give the impression of being confident. Would have scared Floyd.
Damn...thought for a second you were making a serious post, then you not only bring up Floyd but you bring him up like this. SMH. Come on.

Anyway the fight will not happen next. You know Canelo-Cotto is next. Either that or the Lara-Angulo winner. May-Canelo will happen May 2014.

I thought Canelo had his way and did whatever he wanted to when he wanted to and covered up when he wanted to.

I'm on repeat mode with this, but I am sorry 400+ jabs out 700 punches thrown can not win you a fight unless you get some knock downs in there and show you land the clear power blows, which is the complete opposite of what happened in the fight.
400 jabs can't win you a fight? Wladimir Klitschko disagrees.

Thank you chief!!! I know you are Trout fan, so it's relieving to see a Trout fan say what actually happened.

He's trying to secure a fight with Floyd, not scare him away. So what do you do to secure it? Appear as if stamina is an issue while throwing a minimal amount of punches.

Give Trout credit, a lesser boxer would have folded after that knock down. Canelo won a close fight against a very good opponent. Give it up.

When Wladmir Klitschko is penetrating an inferior fighter with his long, hard, thrusting Jab, you better believe that we're all seeing it, acknowledging it and there is no disagreement about who was winning 95% of every round.

                Not the case with Trout.

Let's compare Wladimir Klitschko, the same guy who lands what, 50%+ of his power punches, at least 40% on average, and barely gets hit, to a guy who just landed a supposed 27% of his power punches, and received a good old 43% power punches landed on him. Plus looked like a newborn baby Cattle with one right hand landed, and was on shaky legs with every clean uppercut landed on him.

                  Great comparison, man.

When you land 40%+ of your power punches out of like 300 thrown a fight, and your defense allows your opponents to land a mere under 20% punches landed, you could go head and throw all the jabs you want. You got the fight in the bag.

My pleasure Kev mah homie. Ya potna Chief is a fan of Boxing before any fighter. And Trout just did not appear to come there to win, he just appeared in the ring from what I saw. Im finna go watch the fight off my DVR to see if it looks different from what I saw live, but I doubt it. Trout was beaten tonight, and Saul has arrived at 154 IMHO.
