I thought Canelo was having an easy time in there

Sure he wasn't active enough but he controlled the entire fight, from 1 to 12.

In the criteria of Ring Generalship - he won by a wide margin. Made the supposed better Boxer look like crap by using bob & weave defense and slipping every meaningful punch that Trout threw. The rest of Trout's punches that supposedly landed according to Compubox, I didn't even see them land.

Nothing to see here folks. The better man won in a technically "close fight". Screaming robbery every week is going out of style. Log off, get some fresh air and enjoy Floyd-Canelo in September.

If Canelo's stamina wasn't so terrible, he wins the fight real big.

Also, people need to listen again to Austin's interview. Not just the admittance he lost but what he was saying about Canelo's skills.

The right man won a very close fight. IMO, it was close by design. Saul obviously took rounds off but when he wanted to, he controlled the pace. His head movement and ability to avoid punches was highly impressive. I think he could have stopped trout at any point after the 8th. But it comes down to this, he didn't want to flush the Floyd fight down the drain with an overly dominant performance, which is why it is my opinion that he made it close by design. Even when questioned about the potential fight, he didn't seem to want to give the impression of being confident. Would have scared Floyd.

Yep, looked like Canelo was toying with Trout and had his way with him. When he wanted to turn it up and land he'd do so, when he wanted to take a break he'd make Trout miss 99% of his punches. He was very slick and very impressive.

When Canelo was taking breaks,Trout was hesitant of Canelo's one counter that buckled him a couple times.

Nah if it was so easy he would have stopped him, he had a hard time and it was a close fight Trout could have easily got the nod in.

Are you kidding? Watch round 12. How the **** did Trout NOT win that? Canelo was being a boring b*tch like Rigondeaux in all the rounds after the KD. Higher connection % shouldn't mean **** if you're inactive..

This is exactly what I thought. Exactly, exactly, exactly, what I thought.

I thought Canelo had his way and did whatever he wanted to when he wanted to and covered up when he wanted to.

I'm on repeat mode with this, but I am sorry 400+ jabs out 700 punches thrown can not win you a fight unless you get some knock downs in there and show you land the clear power blows, which is the complete opposite of what happened in the fight.

Him being tired and covering up on the ropes is ring generalship? Sorry but why would he let a fighter outland him, risk getting caught with something and lose rounds by sitting on the ropes and throwing nothing back? Your reasoning makes no sense at all.
