Comments Thread For: Fury Rises From Deck To Knock Out Cunningham in Seven

Fury needs to keep his hands up!! He was a bit too keen to get involved and impress tonight, and ended up looking desperate and wide open during the first few rounds. Good to see him being able to get up off the floor to win again, but he is far too wide open for the overhand right. Once he got his hands up, used his jab and pressured Cunningham he looked alright. That ending was brutal.
He is still FAR from elite though, and needs to seriously work on his defense. I think he probably missed having Peter Fury in his corner and didn't stick to any sort of game plan. Still, he is funny as hell and a pure entertainer!! That song at the end had me cracking up!Comment

When Fury got decked i was worried Fury might lose on the big occasion to show the world how good he could be, and he blew it as he was too eager. Cunningham decked him once, so what was to stop him doing it again, i thought Fury was heading for a shock defeat possibly.
But it seems Fury wasnt as worried as others were and was just impatient to give Cuningham some more back in return.Comment

Fury is a complete Irish BUM. He is such garbage and with his attitude and mouth it will be that sweeter when he gets his ass knocked out. He got put flat on the deck by a small former cruiserweight who does not even have a punch HAHA. I can't wait for this complete idiot to get put to sleep.Comment

My thoughts exactly, Philadel! Green K! I laughed so hard when USS knocked him down and was thinking to myself, wow, he is going to suffer the same demise as David Price, but lo and behold, he got up, and bullied Cunningham until putting him down with a powerful shot in the 7th.
Not sure why everyone is complaining. That was an exciting, and very entertaining heavyweight fight!
My heavyweight super match is officially Fury/Haye.Comment

Not often I completely dismiss a fighter who has victories like Fury does, but the boy is pure garbage. Without his size, he'd be nothing. Credit where it's due; Fury has an excellent punch output for a big man, decent power and plenty of heart, but it was his size that beat Cunningham tonight. Fury sapped all the strength and energy from Cunningham by leaning his weight onto him at every opportunity, ultimately leading to the knockout. I just can't give too much credit to a fighter that gets by on his physical size alone, especially when he behaves like a complete arse before, during and after the fight.
Haye, Wladimir and Vitali all put him to sleep, possibly others.Comment

Why is everyone hating on Fury? He's still young and learning.
He lacks discipline. He carried his hands low, thinking Cunningham stocked nothing. He needs to gradually breakdown his opponent and realise he's not a one-punch KO artist. He was too keen, thats all.Comment

Yep, I think discipline's the key. He's like Amir Khan in that he can't resist getting into a brawl as soon as the other guy shows some aggression.Comment

Yeah he was over eager and got clipped, it's heavyweight boxing if you get hit on the chin by a man whose 16 stone you are liable to hit the deck.
He wasn't particularly hurt, got up calmed down and stopped the dude
It wasn't as bad as people make out, if he was doing Bambi on id be more cconcernedComment
....props to the giant...elbow or not, its a fight!!
