Yeah he very good composure in there. Never got rattled, just did his thing early until he got a heavy punch in, and then went to work. Stay focused and solid and kept Arreola guessing and intimidated at times.

Solid outing and he is now a top 15 contender IMO

First couple of rounds Stiverne was a bit tentative but he surely turned it a round once he knocked down Arreola. When I saw that, I said, no way is Arreola going to win this once.

Arreola's punches were not crisp and he was out of shape. Stiverne was way more effective and you can see that he had a plan. Stiverne made Arreola pay the price for coming in that kind of shape. Those body shots really hurt Arreola. It stopped him in his tracks on several occasions.

i was surprised it went 12 after that huge right that floored arreola. it broke his nose & then he immediately went to work on the body & never looked back. to be honest arreola is always a little heavy & he was able to move around for the full 12 rounds. the broken nose changed everything & the body shots just wore him out. arreola has a great chin & his face at 248 looked a little smaller. he didn't look grossly overweight at 248. what impressed me was stiverne looked fat & out of shape at 247 & his activity level(almost 800 thrown) was great for a HW. brilliant performance & i don't think arreola coming in 10 lbs lighter would have made a difference. if the nose isn't broken this fight could have been even better. best HW fight in awhile i seen...i give stivenre lots of credit for this performance & kudos to arreola for toughing it out & trying his best but the broken nose was too much to overcome espcially after the body attack. i'd love to see a rematch in the future.

by no means is arreola out of the picture. he is relegated to fringe contender now again as he 1-3 in his big fights. he is 1-1 in eliminators & lost a world title fight. adamek also beat him. the broken nose & knockdown changed the fight. arreola is 32 & he is what he is. a straight ahead in your face, take 2 to land 1 kind of guy. he isn't going to be in the 230s. THE BIGGEST MOVE HE NEEDS TO MAKE IS FIRE HIS TRAINER RAMIREZ!!!!!! he gave him no instructions from about the 6th round on. no plan B, no adjusments just a whole lot of raw raw bull**** speeches. you gotta pick it up, i know your hurt but you got to pick it up,etc. when your fighter has a broken nose & what he is doing isn't working it's your job to come up with an alternative & at 37 how much experience does ramirez really have? lost his 3 biggest fights under him. he's taken arreola as far as he can go. it's time for a new voice in the corner in my opinion....stiverne deserves credit & so does his team. DON KING NOW IS IN POSITION TO NEGOTIATE WITH K2! i know how much K2 loves that....

I predicted Stiverne had a great shot to win but the one thing that had me thinking it was a 50-50 fight was because Stiverne had never been 12 rounds before. He put on a great display of boxing tonight and stuck to his game plan for the whole 12.

i have seen stiverne fight several times & knew he had some skill with the austin win but i never saw this performance coming especially with b*itch **** & weighing 247. iy reminded me of tua\rahman 2 when rahman was 260 & threw 80 punches a round for 12 rounds...i wonder if vitali will fight him?

                @ joe strong

I'd like to see that fight with Vitali but doubt if it'll happen. Arreola looked like he took more damage against Stiverne than he did against Vitali. Vitali probably won't take any chances now.

And you're right about Ramirez - he did a pretty poor job in that corner. I highly doubt Chris ever leaves him, they are best buds. Other than being a bad trainer, Ramirez is a bad influence because he goes out drinking and eating with Chris. A trainer should really lead by example so if he's out partying with Chris he's partly responsible for the weight issues. Not to say he ain't a good dude but I'm saying from a professional viewpoint it would be best for Chris to switch, it's probably too late though.

he may be a nut job & have some strange "tough love" tactics but teddy atlas would be the perfect trainer but i know he wouldn't train him because of arreola's work ethic. atlas demands his fighters being in top shape. briggs & moorer were at their best weights with him but they got tired of his yelling & screaming. atlas is like milk...eventually it spoils & goes sour but he is the type of trainer who could get arreola into shape. he would turn arreola into an animal!

                    Areole vs Rigo

Areola, understand, first the lack of any knowledge that need one boxer, and secund considering the statement you made about the movements of your opponent think you may have noticed that in his fight Nonito felt, this shows one more time that the act lacks more technical boxing, and as units become one of these guys gets hit when a will express an opinion have to think.
I say this because the critic's fight Rigo, and I understand, he has no other way to fight, no technique, no movement, slow and poor defense, he can only fight as a gladiator.
