I think Canelo is underrated, sure some of his opponents were a bit shot or undersized, but if he didn't have the skills he has they could have made him look bad or spoiled his night. I think against Trout he will impress a lot of people but his critics will always be against him.

I just hope the kid gets credit if he truly earns his victory.

Just a difficult fighter peeps don't really recognize.

Same **** happened to donaire. That's why you stop whimping out and fight guys like abner mares. Someone who's a challenge. He may have then been more prepared for rigindeaux. But instead he fought old ass fighters who were afraid of him or was just no challenge. Ups to him for taking the fight but he wasn't ready. Canelo will have the same problem. Don't see anyway he will beat trout. I like canelo but I think he's way in over his head this early in his career. But big ups to him for taking the fight though.
I like both fighters, I'm kind of pulling for Trout, because He's local from NM, But I have it a pickem fight. Can't wait!!

Saul ‘Canelo’ Alvarez has long ago established celebrity status in his native Mexico. The sold-out crowd of 38,000 at the Alamodome in San Antonio, Texas for tonight’s 154 lb. unification bout with unbeaten Austin Trout suggests he’s well on his way to crossover appeal in the United States as well.

“Right now at the age of 22 he's obviously Mexico's champion and current boxing superstar,” suggests Golden Boy Promotions President Oscar de la Hoya, who knows a thing or two about stardom. The boxer-turned-promoter still serves as the highest grossing box office star in the history of the sport, including its highest selling pay-per-view event and largest live gate.

Still, he can’t help but gush over the thought of having in his stable the sport’s next big thing.

“He's going to put boxing back on the map in San Antonio with the event,” de la Hoya insists. “I mean we're well over 35,000 tickets sold (the show has since sold out).” [Click Here To Read More]
