    Hard Punching Southpaws

Please name some hard punching southpaws of the present or recent past (no later than, say, 1980).

Oscar De la Hoya and Miguel Cotto were born southpaws, does that count?

Corrie Sanders was a hard punching South Paw. The issue with him is that he failed to impress on a consistent basis. Hence he never elevated to the big fight status that he should have.
Being dismantled by Nate Tubbs in 2 rounds did not help his cause, and he blew his 2nd (and last of his prime) big chance against Rahman when he was knocked out again.

If he had never lost to Nate Tubbs and actually knocked out Rahman.. Sanders might have went on to fight the likes of Ike or maybe Golota. He was a hella puncher though. Was just never ever in shape, damn shame because he was so lazy and unmotivated or else he could have been a very good/ possibly elite fighter.

It wasn't that he was 'motivated' or Wladimir was 'unprepared' against Sanders .It's that Sanders simply posted an stylistic nightmare against Wladimir. In fact .. I don't think any version of Wladimir PRE 2007 could have beaten Sanders. It's just a styles issue.

Victor Ortiz is a converted orthodox fighter, he was born right handed.

No they're left handed not Southpaws, Donaire is another left handed fighter in orthodox stance.

Wow didn't know Donaire was in that category too, one would think he'd have a better jab.
