It is very amateurish and I don't mean that in a negative way. I think what Bob is trying to do is not put down Rigo but challenge him to engage more. A good example I think is Floyd. Like Rigo he is a defensive fighter, but their comparison ends there. Floyd tends to stay in the pocket and therefore resulting to more exchanges. Rigo on the other hand relies more on his footwork/movement resulting to less exchanges where the "boring" comes in for some people. I'd like to think that Arum believes in Rigo coz if not then he wouldn't have re-signed him/offered the Donaire bout.
I wouldn't call using ring generalship and limiting a top 5 pfp fighter to less punches thrown and landed amateurish bro.

So by engaging you mean that Rigo should plant his feet an throw skill-less amateurish combinations and allow himself to be tagged just because??

Let me tell you how much of a pro Rigo is. He is such a pro that he made Donaire do as he commanded.

When he wanted Donaire to go left, he went left.
When he wanted Donaire to go right, he went right.
When he wanted Donaire to eat a counter straight left, Donaire ate.
When he wanted Donaire to follow like a lost puppy, he did.

In short Rigo put on a very professional display of ring generalship and cleaner effective punching. If Donaire didn't like it, he shoulda done something about it, but he couldn't. That's how much of a comanding pro Rigo was last Saturday.

Doesn't sound like something Bob Arum would do.

Relax Mang. I'm not dissing on Rigo. hehe. Damn! Hold yer horses. Yeah Rigo is a pro. You where stuck with amateurish. LOL. Let me rephrase, Maybe Bob just wants to Rigo is engage more.

With regards to Donaire, no one is arguing that. I already posted same thing you post there. He lost. Topic is not even about him. hehe.

I don't blame Arum. That kind of style only attracts streamers. These boxers won't make money without casual fans. So-called boxing fans watch most fights for free. Who's going to invest money to produce these fights if they make very little? Nobody.

Rigo makes Mayweather's output look like Leo Santa Cruz.

Almost makes me think this is the way Arum and Floyd started parting ways but I can't even be close to positively sure how it went down. Did Arum have the same promotional problem with Floyd?
Rigo is very defensive minded like Floyd and Arum not only doesn't like it but will PR his discontent about about Rigos style.

So what does that make Donaire's output look like?
