If you want the simple answer excitement, plus seeing someone get after Floyd a bit is not a common thing. So seeing a guy win 4 rounds against him is made out to be a bigger deal than it is (I think 4 rounds is rather generous to be honest but that is neither here not there).

Rigondeaux dominated and it was not really expected but some people just can't dig how he did it. Even though Nonito totally being unable and unwilling to do anything played a huge role in why the fight went like that. Plus the guy that is losing should be the one to try and do something he seemed content to lose by the end.


This doesn't have anything to do with this thread but I feel like putting it here because I feel you are being more sincere than most. I don't want to compare Floyd and Rigondeaux because to me they are vastly different fighters despite both being very skillful but the main difference is they fight out of different stances. Rigondeaux is the next guy in the line of very crafty lefties so I find it hard to compare with what Floyd does out of an orthodox stance~ to me it is like baseball you don't really compare righties and lefties. But that is just me and I felt like saying that.

Need some feedback on WHY Rigondeaux received the amount of hate he did post Donaire smashdown as opposed to Mayweather beating Cotto?

Cotto received as much praise for losing as Rigondeaux did for winning--- FROM THE BOXING MEDIA.


I felt Cotto won at least 4 rds... while Rigo almost pitched a shutout vs Donaire.
