Ring lost credibility as soon as GBP bought them out

Those three fighters not being on a p4p list is crazy to me. Especially Rigo and Mares, maybe Froch shouldn't be there because of guys like Donaire and Bradley, but Rigo and Mares being left out kills credibility for any list.
The RING leaves Mares out but puts Guerrero in, that makes no sense.

What a disgrace. So there reasoning is Guerrero has a fight SCHEDULED with a pound 4 pound fighter and Broner is SCHEDULED to fight a WW title holder. Well Rigo just schooled a top 5 pound 4 pound fighter!

        The Ring's p4p list is a joke.

Apparently the rating panel only does the divisional rankings. For some reason the p4p rankings are entrusted to Chuck Giampa solely:

Everyone on the Ratings Panel agrees that Broner is rated too high on the P4P list and that he shouldn’t be ahead of Donaire. Don’t blame them for the new pound-for-pound rankings. They had no input. Ring editor Michael Rosenthal and I did, but obviously, our opinions fell on deaf ears. The pound-for-pound rankings as it is now is just Chuck Giampa’s list.

Ahhh. That makes a big difference. The Ring has a lot of writers that I respect a lot and was surprised at this. At least this clears that up for me.

              Thanks.

Their reasoning is terrible too. How is Rigo not on the list and Why is Donut still there. Broner does deserve to be on the list though. However the fact that Nonito is still on the list and not Rigo who just flat out gave Nonito a boxing lesson is Blasphemous. With the reasoning they have the top P4P fighter should be Hopkins with the way they think.

We already know the results of those fights before they happen. Broner and Floyd have already won. I couldn't say it better myself. RING magazine=Disgrace. RING magazine is not credible anymore.

How is Pacquiao at #5 now?

There is no way that Pacquiao should be ranked over Bradley despite what your opinion of their match is.

And quite honestly, Donaire/Rigondeaux was more significant than anything that Pacquiao has done since 2008. Rigo faced a #1 reigning champion. Pacquiao hasn't done that in half a decade.

Perhaps that is why some people take offense to such an unjustifiable ranking.
Weird post. Pacquiao was P4P at the top of the list with Ward and Mayweather going into the 4th Marquez fight. Noone took the Bradley decision seriously. One of the few benefits of a P4P list is that official decisions can be ignored if they don't account for reality. So saying he wasn't at no.5 is ridiculous. Stop offering me arguments based on stuff like this, it's a waste of time

How is there "no way"? Pacquiao beat Bradley, despite the official decision. As stated before, P4P lists arent ironclad to official decisions, which I believe is a great thing. The performance against Bradley cemented Pacquiao's standing in the P4P list, Bradley was an undefeated challenger, who dominated (except Khan) the 140 division. Pound for pound, Pacquiao is a better fighter than Bradley. Sometimes I think people forget what pound for pound actually means, even though it's lustre is far removed.

Sure it was significant, but it's only 1 win. All it shows is that Rigo is masterful against fighters like Donaire, but not any other styles. He has to beat other top fighters in his division to prove he can do that, hence Ward ranks much higher.
