man your fighter is losing specially in the donaire fight and hes all calm saying close fight, giving his fighters instructions going into the 12th like if it was the first not really much urgency, he should have told him since the middle rds, k.o this dude out of ur gonna lose.

You didn't hear Robert from the 8th round on, to step up the pace, and do it for his new baby, and his family??? -
yeah bro i was exagerating a bit, but he never made it seem like he was terribly behind and needed a ko to win, he never told him that. and he was relatively calm imo for how the fight was going.Comment

I think it's honestly because if they win a robbery he can say he thought they were winning, or if they lose, he can say he thought it was a close fight. He doesn't want to show any desperation. For some of these trainers it has become more about a popularity contest than giving proper instructions.Comment

Smart trainers do this, because they know cameras are on them. Guys like Roach will straight up tell their fighter, they're losing, and need a KO.I think it's honestly because if they win a robbery he can say he thought they were winning, or if they lose, he can say he thought it was a close fight. Ex. Pacquiao/Marquez 3. JMM won, but wasn't a lopsided robbery, but Roach saying all that, didn't help Manny look good at all.Comment

Garcia Donaire and the entire team really underestimated Rigo. They thought it was going to be somewhat an easy fight. Garcia said before the fight he thought Donaire was going to stop him inside three rounds lol.Last edited by VatoMulatto; 04-16-2013, 04:40 PM.Comment

Garcia knew Donaire couldn't match Rigondo's athleticism and he also knew that Donaire isn't Rios who can bring the pressure...
that brings up an interesting thought... mofos blame Roach for not teaching his boxers how to cut off the ring, but now we just seen two of Garcia's boxers who can't cut off the ring for shi*t either.Comment

Didn't Jim Lampley say Robert was training with Donaire over the phone most of the training camp not good. I agree Robert is not the best trainer in the corner these days. When his fighters are fighting these guys with a game plan of boxing and moving around the ring like Alvarado and Rigondeaux did. His fighters look puzzled and lost not knowing how to cut off the ring.Comment

Garcia knew if Donaire had to go all out, Donaire would've been KTFO.Garcia knew Donaire couldn't match Rigondo's athleticism and he also knew that Donaire isn't Rios who can bring the pressure...

Same applies to a Rios. He would've gotten spun, and countered worse than what Abril did.
Rios' biggest asset is cutting the ring off, and infighting. Since when did Rios not know how to cut the ring off???Comment
