Comments Thread For: Cult of Rigondeaux…Rise!: The Post-Fight Report Card

Maybe Muhammad Ali and Larry Holmes were fortunate that Teofilo Stevenson stayed in Ciba after all.

Joel Casamayor has, in this generation, been the strongest argument that the best of the long-dominant Cuban amateur program had the potential to find wild professional success. Casamayor never quite had a win like Guillermo Rigondeaux did last Saturday.

Make no mistake: that was a complete undressing of one of the most accomplished fighters of the last six years. Those who wondered if Rigondeaux, at 11-0, was taking too big a step up in competition saw that thinking turned on its ear. [Click Here To Read More]

I expect this cult to become rather large in the coming weeks.

Rigo is a true boxing master and he schooled my boy Donaire.
Much props and like Donaire said at the end "thank you for your boxing" sounding like a good student that just learned a new lesson.

rigo won the tenth decisively after the kd? come on man, without the kd i'd still give donaire that round, rigo landed what? 3 punches? plus i suppose the jab that he traded with a donaire left hook right at the beggining of the round, donaire landed alot of big shots, he wasn't as flashy about it but he landed a good number, that round is what convinced me of rigo's chin being damn solid because he was not phased in the slightest

I think giving Donaire a B+ in defense pre fight was generous. And would I be crazy if I said Rigo's power is an A but Donaire's is an A-? I know Donaire KDed Rigo but that was kinda cheap (not taking Anything away from it cause it was fair n square). I saw Rigo hurting and pushing Donaire back a couple of times.

are you serious right now? I suggest you go back and rewatch the round then.
