Canelo will destroy Trout, and that will insure, Floyd Mayweather NEVER gets in the ring with Canelo, and neither will Sergio Martinez or Chavez, Jr. Canelo if he stays away from Hollywood, keeps his focus, could dominate the division, clean out the division, for many, many years, like Hagler, Hopkins, Larry Holmes all did during their long, legendary careers.

This all might be true, but Hagler could possibly be the best Middleweight Champion of all time. His resume speaks for itself. Hagler has fought and beat hall of famers, and Canelo has never even fought his #1 contender. He's still young though and fighting Trout is a good start. I just don't see the comparison.

I'll tell you where Trout wasn't a year ago - defending his Junior Middleweight title against blown up Super Lightweights! Reputation doesn't mean **** once you get in the ring. I think Trout proved that pretty conclusively when he fought Cotto at MSG.

So, how is Trout beating a shot Cotto any different than your scenario of Canelo?

You disrespected Hagler when you mentioned him in the same sentence as this unproven belt gifted prospect. Yes i'm calling him a prospect because even with a belt he has still proven nothing outside of the fact that he can draw his countrymen to his fights. I hate saying that cause i like Canelo, but it's true.

Still a better win than any of Canelo's....but that could change on Saturday. I think Canelo actually struggles with Trout's size a bit...

I dont see how fighting Josesito Lopez and Matthew Hatton can be called fighting all comers? Trout is the first opponent Canelo is fighting and as for him wanting to fight Mayweather all fighters want to fight Mayweather including the Klitschkos (if it was possible).Everyone who fights Mayweather gets a career high pay day so anyone within range will want to fight him because even if you lose your bank account is set forever.

If there's a stoppage in this fight it will come from Trout.Canelo will try to box into range and get tagged as he comes in.He can't impose his will in this one because he doesn't have size.You all should remember that Canelo gets hit a lot but doesn't normally feel it because he has been fighting small boys like Hatton. Trout might not be a big puncher but he hits hard enough to make someone think.He is also an excellent boxer with great movemement and reach which will frustrate Canelo.As it stands I have no respect for that boy and I expect him to be outclassed.

It's a little premature to give Canelo a Hagler comparison. And even if he beats Trout he still probably won't compare just because of how Hagler's career went. It's much harder to be a road warrior like Marvin was and to go ruin people overseas in their home towns. Canelo has had a significant degree of protection and good management. That isn't to say he isn't the real deal- but he'll never have the type of thick alligator skin Marvin HAD to have.

I can dig your comparison stylistically though, but again I think Canelo has way too much to prove still.
