  • Comments Thread For: Canelo's Trainer Vows: Trout is Getting Knocked Out!

The stage is nearly set. After spending six weeks of training camp on California soil, unbeaten WBC 154-pound champion Saul "Canelo" Alvarez (41-0-1, 30KOs), and members of his team, are hitting San Antonio, Texas, the location of Saturday's unification battle with fellow unbeate, WBA junior middleweight champion Austin Trout (26-0, 14KOs).

Alvarez will face Trout at the majestic Alamodome, where legends like Oscar De La Hoya, Julio Cesar Chavez, Manny Pacquiao, Marco Antonio Barrera and Azumah Nelson saw action.

Canelo's trainer kept it short and sweet when asked for his prediction on the final outcome.

Canelo should KO Trout because Trout never commits to his punches. He has no conviction; he just pokes and slap and that's not good enough for Canelo.

It's funny that people are picking Trout just because they dislike Canelo. But where was Trout a year ago? Most people did not even know him.

Canelo Is The Second Coming Of Marvin Hagler

NO disrespect to the legend Marvelous Marvin Hagler, but Canelo is the first guy that's come along, with the take no prisoners attitude, line up the best of the best, take on all comers, since Hagler. His work ethic, his conditioning, his will imposed on an opponent, then just take their heart away, and make them quit, then knock them out. He hurts guys with both hands. He's not a head hunter, he will kill the body, then the head will follow. Trout has a lot of body exposed, and Trout will look like a heavy bag, getting beat to a pulp. Remember how Hagler cut down the ever dangerous Tommy Hearns. Canelo will destroy Trout, and that will insure, Floyd Mayweather NEVER gets in the ring with Canelo, and neither will Sergio Martinez or Chavez, Jr. Canelo if he stays away from Hollywood, keeps his focus, could dominate the division, clean out the division, for many, many years, like Hagler, Hopkins, Larry Holmes all did during their long, legendary careers.

I'll tell you where Trout wasn't a year ago - defending his Junior Middleweight title against blown up Super Lightweights! Reputation doesn't mean **** once you get in the ring. I think Trout proved that pretty conclusively when he fought Cotto at MSG.

Yeah, but Canelo will never get into the ring with Golovkin.

Cotto was finished and Trout really didn't do anything in the fight but poke and slap.

I've never thought about it. Who the hell is Canelo's trainer?

It's hard to knock out a runner. He won't trade when you want to. The first rounds of his fight with Cotto was spent on avoiding Cotto's left hook. He countered aimlessly like trying to ward off evil spirits. He holds and clinches when Cotto closes in, then ref breaks, which made it impossible for Cotto to fight an inside fight. Cotto got tired of chasing the runner. He lost due to frustration and ran out of gas. Let's just see if he can do that with a young, hungry Alvarez.
