The fact that there is no possibility of a Pacquiao fight happening right now is killing this fight. People tolerated the Ortiz fight because it was thought to be a tune up for Pacquiao (remember Floyd saying "and yes Manny Pacquiao, your next!") I haven't talked to anyone hyped up to pay for this PPV. Even the undercards, while good fights, will not save this one.
I really could care less, in a few days I will be in San Antonio for Canelo/Trout. I'll try and stream the Floyd fight, if I find a decent one great, if not, no big deal.

Agreed, it's kinda weird but hey am not surprised because I remember when Showtime picked up Pacquiao-Mosley and everyone was like it would be on CBS and casual fans would see it etc but at the end of the day the show was not that publicise, same thing here.

I remember thinking that nobody was talking about the Mayweather-Marquez fight and that it was going to be a flop, and it shocked everybody and did a million buys. Not that I expect this to do a million buys, but it will still be successful. With this being a Showtime PPV, I think that could shave off 150k buys if not more. I'll be shocked if it does less than 800k though.

Tell me then, who should Floyd fight next that you won't call a cherry pick?

Manny? No, he's still asleep. JMM? No, he has not mentioned Floyd's name. I don't even think he can say Floyd in Spanish. Bradley? He used to talk about fighting Floyd, but now he's so punch drunk he can hardly say a word. Rios? Hell, he's punch drunk too.

Yeah, there is a little bit less buzz behind this than the usual. Things don't really heat up until the last two weeks before the fight though.

Showtime managed to do, what, 1.3 for Pacquiao-Mosley, right? I expect a pretty similar number for this one.

Do you think Floyd could care less b/c he is getting paid regardless? There seemed to be a lot of buzz for the Mayweather-Mosley and Mayweather-Cotto but I feel like nobody knows who the hell the Ghost is. Whole thing feels weird.
nobody outside the boxing community knows who guerrero is. Everybody knows floyd should have fought canelo or trout and are a bit fed up with his crap. he's ducking them now just like he ducked pacquiao in the past. I wouldn't be shocked if he hoes and fights a shot pacquiao in a years time in standard mayweather proceedure.

Anyway Canelo v trout is the waaaaay more exciting prospect. That said I think floyd is slippping and if the odds are insane enough ..... actually what are the odds at the moment?

LOL floyd fans amaze me... You just embottled Floyds career right there... When he could have fight top challengers he waited for them to lose or run out of gas before he says "ok, lets go"

manny- 98% of the world knows floyd really avoided him, not the other way around...

Marquez- floyd made him go up 2!!! weight classes and still didnt come in at proper weight.

Bradley- waited for someone else to school him( not that I think floyd would have lost, i think he wouldve won, but he didnt want to risk anything)

Rios- well he never wouldve stood a chance but again, floyd saying :who is he? whats he proven, nah he aint worth it" shows how scared he is to lose that '0"

Usually it's non stop, everyone knows, Floyd is selling the fight, but it's like it doesnt matter if he doesnt sell it, he's getting a set amount regardless of PPV sales, so he doesnt need to sell it? Maybe one of the floyd fanboys can tell us about the specifics of his deal?

With no Canelo on the undercard, if the PPV numbers flop, then he's going to look bad for it, like he needed Canelo to prop up the other cards, even with a load of money it's not good for his ego.
