You got to look at the nature of the knockdowns. They're not due to defensive flaws.

Great defensive fighters have tasted the canvas early in their careers. Ward got dropped by a journeyman.
Guillermo being dropped and rocked by Cordoba's jab was quite worrisome. Did you see the fight? A fighter as great as Guill shouldn't be having that type of struggle for all of the hype praised on him.

But when he absolutely schools Donaire, it doesn't mean anything, because it doesn't fit your agenda.

I'm gonna go out on a limb and say that Rigo's beaten more Americans in his life than Floyd has Cubans, not that either means much in the context of this argument.

mayweather has been on top for the past decade fighting top level opponents across multiple weight classes.

rigo got a good win but thats one good win. one. vs a decade.

          try not to be biased
I think they're both at a similar level. However, Rigo's win last night is arguably better than any on Floyd's resume as he schooled someone a top 5 p4p fighter who was dominating everyone within sight. I accept your argument that Floyd has been around the pro game for much longer but he's never taken on a prime top 5 p4p fighter and made them look ordinary for the guts of 12 rounds.

If Floyd fought Donaire at 122(hypothetical and all as it is....), he could definitely be knocked down. I'm not saying he would be, but Donaire has been taking other super bantamweights out for fun in the last year.

He's progressed since then. People were using Cordoba and Marroquin as examples of why Nonito would spark him out.

Huh? I created a thread defending Guill!! Just because I think Floyd has more facets to his game I have an agenda....jeez... The poll speaks for itself, I guess the majority just all have agendas.

He just tightened up his game. It was still a highly amateur styled fight that he fought. Control distance, land the 1-2, get out of the way. Where were the right hooks coming back off the left? the Jab was more pawing than forceful. That's what got him in trouble against the other guys, Nonito IMO doesn't have the confidence in creating openings to try and take advantage of that though. Guill is a great boxer. I never said otherwise

I don't consider FLoyd's limitations facets to his game.

Lack of a vertical game. Gets smothered too often, unlike Rigo who has superior foot movement. Blocks a majority of incoming shots, by either ducking low with a body check, or tying someone up, as they get close. None of that is a flaw at all, but Rigo doesn't get smothered in the first place, because of his superior footwork and angles.

That's not indicative of Floyd having a better inside game. That's indicative of Floyd not being able to use his footwork, and angles as well as Rigo.

You really are slow huh? I didn't say that you liked Pacquiao, I was explaining my rep and why it's inconsequential. Of course I like Floyd, I'm a boxing fan. What's there not to like about Floyd as a boxer? You have some nerve talking about credibility when you're an idiot with an agenda. You know you get no respect.
