LOL..Point is you can't judge defense based on number of times you've been knocked down. You got to look at the nature of the knockdowns.

But he's my favorite fighter too. That's why I used that example. I knew he suffered some early career knockdowns but didn't know it was 2 in 12 fights.

You are definitely a former Pacquiao fan that jumped on the Rigondeaux bandwagon after he dismantled another pinoy fighter to discredit Floyd's superior skill.

I'm not going to let you bait me into discrediting another master boxer we see in Rigondeaux. I am just going by the skills we see displayed by either fighter to make my pick. I am picking Mayweather based on versatility and fighting not based entirely on counter punching even thought he is extremely talented in that regard. We are also witnessing a Floyd Mayweather who is diminishing, but still find ways to frustrate and dismantle his opponent. Both are excellent in terms of neutralizing their opponents offense, which is why I will always favor these two.

He caught Floyd reaching and knocked him off balance which he used his fist to keep on his feet. Credit to Judah for doing so but he did not even do anything in that fight to win and could had been stopped had Floyd pressed the attack. Rigondeaux fell on his ass twice.. but his defense is still excellent but I give Floyd an edge in awareness.

I don't believe people are judging it solely based on that, but it's a factor. If Guillermo is going to be a better boxer than Floyd he shouldn't be getting put down and rocked hard as early in his career.

Floyd gets tagged more but the shots he gets hit with are on the shoulder, rolled, on the gloves, on the arms etc...
Rigo gets hit less by using super footwork and movement but when he does get hit it is usually a clean shot and therefore he is susceptible to flash knockdowns etc.
People who can't break this **** down are idiots... arguing about this crap.
Rigo uses defense with his footwork, and superior upper body movement, and head movement. He also has a vertical game, just like Sweet Pea, and unlike Floyd.

Floyd is a majority glove user when someone gets close. Rigo slips, and rips when someone gets close.

The way Floyd got tagged by Mosley is worse than Rigo getting flash KD.

Rigo's more sweet pea than Floyd. He relies on craftier movements, and timing. Floyd has great movement, and timing, but also relies heavily on blocking with his elbows, arms, and gloves.

P.S. Rigo does all the same things as Floyd, except he doesn't use his elbows, and body checks as much. Rigo's more advanced in the defense department. When Floyd moves out the way, he's clear out the way, then resets. When Rigo moves out the way, it's with subtle angles, and he's still right next to you, landing a left hand.

Floyd's inside game is due to the lack of pure power like Rigo has. Rigo has a bazooka attached to his arm, thus fighters not wanting to rush in on him. That's a recipe for night night.

P.S. Rigo's inside game consists of not getting smothered in the first place due to superior footwork, and angles. He uses his footwork to angle out of positions, and spin you, and make you look foolish, while also tagging you with a bazooka left hand.

Floyd waits for the moment, and either ducks his head with a body check, or blocks you with his gloves. What Rigo does is more advanced, and intricate.

I wouldn't worry about it. Cordoba was a flash knockdown and Donaire knocked him down because he was waiting for the ref to break up the clinch like they do in the amateurs. Marroquin caught him when he was dancing with his hands down.

You got to look at the nature of the knockdowns. They're not due to defensive flaws.

Great defensive fighters have tasted the canvas early in their careers. Ward got dropped by a journeyman.

It doesn't say anything execpt that I made one comment that struck a nerve with a no life Pacquiao c*cksucker who has a insane amount of rep points. And, I didn't "have" to quote you. I quoted you because your comment was so ****** that I felt pity and wanted to school you. You should thank me.
