There's room for all types of fans and all types of styles. That's what makes this sport so great.

They booed him because he was trying to make excuses for losing. He deserved to be booed for that. Two good shoulders and a bat wouldn't have beat Rigo.

Then the crowd needs to be smarter with their money, and watch fights that will entertain them and their sensibilities, perhaps.

The fuck they think they were going to see, a Alvarado-Rios type blood bath?

If you found it boring, hey, nothing I type is going to change your mind.

Don't expect to change mine in the slightest in what I know I saw.

I agree with most of your posts, but differ with this analogy. I can listen to Sabbath, Rush, Maiden and also am a huge fan of Bach, Wagner, Beethoven, and Mozart. In fact, i will be seeing Wagner's Ring Cycle soon and paid for that instead of seeing Rigo-Donaire. Also had to pay the IRS a major tax bill this year.

A good analogy is people who prefer a slugfest over a pitcher's duel.

This fight was like a fight between a mongoose vs a cobra. Donaire being the cobra and trying to land one kill shot cause he was afraid of putting punches in bunches. If anybody deserves the blame for the fight not having enough fireworks it's Donaire because he really didn't do squat. He felt Rigo's power and decided to play it safe. The 12th round was embarassing for Donaire, he got a blue eye, but from the way he acted it seemed like his eye was torn out. The fight was slightly boring, I can't call it exciting, but it was mostly on Nonito. Having said that this fight just can't compare by some of the hug gest put on by BHOP, Ward and Floyd. Rigo doesn't fight negative by clinching and holding or running for survival aka Andre Dirrell.

It's not just Iole. Rafael and Al Bernstein were utterly crapping all over Rigo immediately following the win.

Hopefully Dan Rafael and Kevin Iole can read.

Yeah I read that garbage of an article last night.

Iole doesn't know donkey shit about boxing and it infuriates me he's the lead guy at yahoo that covers boxing. This is the same guy who a few years ago was practically declaring boxing as a dead sport and claiming MMA had taken over. The guy makes me sick, and I'm glad I'm not alone in this regard, just look at the comments on his own articles where people are ripping him.

What garbage. People in the business should be praising Rigo, not talking chit on him.
