Bob is smart, he knows what to do with Rigo. he can do the same thing he's been doing with all his fav fighters.
Put him in there with face first, flat footed, washed up fighters, sell them as legit threats, and hail him as the next coming of the guy who can beat Floyd.
Bob dont want Rigo to be a star, Bob dont care how good he is, Bob only cares about the money. And we as boxing fans should let Bob know how we feel by supporting Rigo/the real talent in the sport.
Dont get caught up in the BS
I always laugh when boxing fans talk about how much a fighter can or can't make by not fighting someone who does or doesn't have a fan base. Leave that up to the promoters/agents/managers. Rigondeaux just proved how good he really is by shutting Donaire down. I think Arum is just heated that Manny got knocked off and now Donaire and the Pinoys are big supporters in boxing. Bob must have thought Rigondeaux had no chance at all.

Nope, Bob knows what he's doing believe me. Nonito will move up and they will be able to build up him @ 126 and stilll have some popualty. He now has two fighters @ 122 and 126 that are big names. This was the plan all along. This is why you saw him milk him against Nisihoka, AMthebula, and ARCE (joke fight) before throwing him in before Rigondeaux. A win would have made Donaire big, and a loss like we are seeing can be spun in a way that Donaire is still marketable.

I don't buy it because if Arum was really happy then he would be ecstatic right now. Bob Arum is not shy from expressing himself in the media. The only reason Rigondeaux got the fight was because Golden Boy was pushing Mares on Donaire and Bob had to deliver.

Nope, when Rigo renewed the contract, he was promised Donaire.

Believe me this was Bobby move all along. Nonito was moving up and the stable was dry.

                  This sounds right.

Can't go from passing up Mares to fighting Darchy which seems to be the plan they were looking for. Rigondeaux got the shot because HBO/Media/Fans weren't going to buy another Arce type fighter.

I told DoubleMM but he has another reason which doesn't sound like Arum at all because he had no plans to push Rigondeaux. He is still surprised that Rigondeaux won the fight. If he knew that Rigo stood a chance to win then no way he would risk Donaire unless there was pressure on him to make the fight which Golden Boy put on him. That's more the story I believe.

He could sell rigo if he really wanted. Put some tomato cans in front of him. Maybe bob doesnt get along with rigo personally and is judging him on his diminutive and unappealling appearance. I must admit i was on the edge of my seat watching rigo dominate donaire, but the fact i am a fan of donaire was probably the main reason. But i like rigo and as much as he pissed me off by winning i hope he gets all the credit a champion deserves.
