I thought the first 6 rounds were as intense/exciting as any brawl bcse of the anticapation of a sudden conclusive end, but then after that it dulled a bit.

It was clear Donaire was out of his depth and Rigondeaux went into cruise mode.

Sitting here thinking about what a terrible fight that was tonight. So disappointing. #DonaireRigondeaux #boxing

If @trboxing & @GoldenBoyBoxing would work together we would have had Donaire-Mares instead of tonight's stinkbomb. #DonaireRigondeaux

I dont need toe-to-toe war to be satisfied but I despise watching guys who run, back up & dont engage.Rigo huge ability but not entertaining

If you're not going to even try to entertain, people wont watch, wont buy tickets and TV nets wont put you on.
Yeah, I saw that this morning. I usually like Dan, but his comments on the fight were absolute garbage. The ignorance and audacity to shit on "El Chacal's" masterful performance... SMH If I didn't know better, I'd say Rafael doesn't actually like boxing.

I gave Nonito the 5th and 10th rounds. He might've won another round, but Rigo utterly outclassed him. No doubt about that. There was never any question as to who the better fighter/winner of the fight was.

Dan Rafael is a moron. How can he call himself an expert if he didin't enjoy that fight? I loved every god damn second, it was more entertaining to me than Rios - Alvarado. Watching two top guys in their division with one of them being a pure genius, for me, huge boxing fan, was like watching Mona Lisa for art collectors. Rigo totally humilited ans schooled him. But I have to admit that after I've heard 114-113 my heart stopped for a second..

Ihad Rigo easily winning 10 ---2 and Donaire brought nothing to fight!! No conditioning at all he was smooth had no defination and was unwilling to engage and that was before the fight!!!! Not to take anything away from Rigo who controled fight , boring as it was!!! It looked like the first 4 rounds were leading into a fight but Rigo started running and Donaire never engaged him. It was definetely a conventional stance fighter being stumped by a southpaw who sat back on his rear foot and was NEVER pressed!!!!!!
Donaire brought nothing and then couldn't handle Rigo anyways!!! The fight was NOT a great fight and I'd hoped it could be. Both are talented but against one another no one takes the fight to higher ground! Neither are headliners after that performance. Rigo is talented but that was already known his problem is promotion, he's a boring fighter and to use the excuse thats its "scientific boxing" is just BS!!! Theres plenty of scientific men who engaged their opponents alot more than he does!! I see his skills but his methods don't sell tickets. He was booed along with Donaires lack of effort all night!! Real headliners don't get booed throughout their bouts!!! Boring!!
          Ray.

First look 117 - 110 in favor of Rigo.

I need to see it again with commentary off.

I had it 8 rounds to 2 for Rigo with 2 rounds even. But quite a few rounds were close, so I overall the fight was somehow close even though the main story of the fight is that Rigo was beating him to the punch almost the whole time.

Me too. It was a technical matchup of 2 highly skilled technicians. I always liked watching it when guys like Pernell Whitaker showcased their skills. I don't care what Dan Rafael says, the dude can say whatever he wants, I don't hang on his twitter to hear his stuff.

None at all. We all love exciting fights, but he goes over board with fights he thinks are "boring". Case and point last night's fight. He didn't like it, and that's fine, but he personally attacks both the fighters who don't fight in the style he likes and the fans that enjoy those fights.

If a fight wasn't your cup of tea fine, but there is no need to go on a giant rant about it.

It's the whole mentality of scoring a round "for who you would rather be at the end of it" that has screwed everything up. People think punching is all that matters and that is dumb, because it's just not true. I imagine some people were thinking last night, oh neither guy really landed much that round so I will call it even. It just doesn't work that way. Very rarely are all 4 scoring criteria even, thus very rarely is there a 10-10 round.
