I read this book from the library
about old fights. And they talk about
the Slopiano vs. Archie Moore fight.
When Archie Moore knocked Slopiano down,
The ref was supposed to count let Slopiano
back up then let the fight go on. Instead
what the ref did was as soon as Slopiano
went down ,he count then when he got up ,he gave
him a standing 8 count to let him regain himself,
which at the time was not allowed in championship
fight, but they did it anyway. Even Archie Moore
commented on this how they gave Rocky a break to regain
himself. Slopiano needed the ref to help him.
Thats why he retired after this fight, he could
not handle a 45 year old light heavyweight without
help from the ref.

Rocky was up at 3, the ref did count till 8 but so what. It was just a knockdown. Also, archie moore might have been 45, but he is proclaimed to be the best P4P 40 year old boxer in history. If the ref wouldn't have given rocky a standing eight, the result would have been the same anyway.

I don't know why you hate Marciano so much. If there's somebody to be hated, it's Tyson. He is pure skill without heart. I'd take Marciano anytime even with limited skills but with a robust heart.

Marciano on his worst day will kick Tyson's ass on his best day.
