  • I didn't like what I saw at the weigh in yesterday for Donaire

I saw almost no muscle definition whatsoever looking drained as hell, and there were reports of him being 4 pounds over the limit an hour before the weigh in, and he was playing around too much in the staredown, while Rigo came in looking as ripped as anyone can look, and was all business in the staredown.

Donaire looks like a POW quite a lot, I wouldn't get too concerned.

Think it might be the lighting or camera spec as well, Donaire doesn't look that well defined in the top picture either.

      The Montiel fight:

you're showing a picture of him flexing compared to a picture in which he is relaxed.

donaire always has a bit of trouble with weight. that's why he's so big on fight night. he dries out and skips a few meals to hit 122, the same way he did at 118, 115, and so fourth.

it's probably got somthing to do with why he throws so few punches (that and that he puts everything into the ones he does throw.)

rigo is a mchine, there is no imtimiddation from him. if you watch his interviews he looks and talks like a pitbull on a leash waiting ot be unleashed. rigo has been waiting a long time for this oppertunity, dreaming about it in cuba, left his country for this time. his state of mind is at an all time high, he will be like a programmed machine in there, donaire is in big trouble. i see him getting broken down mentally and physically.

I'm not worried lol. Nonito is still an A level fighter with more versatility and the superior Jab over rigo, who is basically a one handed fighter.

I just didn't like what I saw at the weigh in.

              The Montiel fight:

Wow.....yeah, you can really tell the difference there. I know that pictures and weights have been a sore subject for threads here in the last 2 days, LMAO but you can clearly see that he was pretty chisled up for the Montiel fight. I didn't remember him being that strong looking as he always looks kind of "out of shape" at weigh in's imo.

Another thing is the weight loss, I know people lose weight before fights to make the limits but it's not an effortless task and it takes a toll on your body. I'd like to see a pic of Donaire from Thursday and compare it to the weigh in just to get the point across to people that a difference of 4 pounds is definitely noticeable to the human eye.

He weighed 7 pounds over on Tuesday and was only able to shed 3 pounds by Friday morning. You can see his cheeks are sunken in and he does look weak but hopefully he will be fine come tonight.

it does weaken, you, and it can take a toll on your body, but it also allows you to enter the ring heavy, giving you an advantage which in turn will take a toll on your opponent as he fights off a bigger man.

it's a balance that some of these guys choose to walk. generally, as long as the fighter isn't really taking a lot out of himself to hit the weight 30 + hours earlier, it is an advantage.

5-10 extra lbs in a 122 lb fight can be the difference between a punch an opponent can take, and one he cannot.

It's the lighting and look what happened to Montiel, KTFO2.
