Keep up the good work Barry, look forward to watching more of your vids bro.

Very nice video and commentary. While I agree that Ward would have gotten the win at 175, I still think weight played a part too. Dawson taken some big shots in career but it seems like every power punch hurt... from a guy who relies on skill rather than punching power.

Punches you don't see hurt. ask anybody that has ever been hit with a shot they did not see. ask paul williams, ask pacman, ask montiel, its the reality of boxing and the point of the video. Chad got setup

They do in fact hurt. Enjoyed the vid you posted on Ward's training technique. You definitely know you stuff. My man.

I think Ward would win vs. Dawson at light heavy.... but it would be a 12 round decision. I'm a huge Ward fan & I don't even like Chad, but he was drained for the fight. At light heavy 12 round unanimous win for Ward.

With the head slides as well...... I feel I get a lot more leverage & therefore power with the body shots since I'm transferring my weight...... & as you mentioned you're outta the way for counters etc.

People are giving Chad Dawson too much credit without acknowledging that he has frozen up in past performances, he has been hurt/ or shaken up before. Dawson got caught in one of the most sensitive areas on the chin by a fighter who has underrated power. Ward stunned Bika, stunned Froch plenty of times, backin' him up. I'm not saying Dawson was 100%, of course he wasn't, but people aren't giving Ward enough credit. Dawson has always had a shaky chin too.

good insight, My only suggestion is more focus on techniques and why they work and less commentary about the people who wont appreciate your insight. as an amateur fighter I find the insight valuable....

                    thanks..

Ward has fought like this (grabbing/wrestling/charging in head first) ever since he got dropped HARD years ago. He'll never change. I agree, that's on Dawson for going down in weight and challenging Ward. However, once Dawson realized he didn't have the strength to fight a dude that is one of the few elite fighters in the game that doesn't really drain himself to make weight, he was done. Genius on Ward's part (amazing footwork, sticking to the gameplan, exploding when the opportunity presents itself), but all the greats do it in multiple weight classes.

Why is he still sticking around 168? I say it's because he's not killing himself (in the boxing sense) to make weight, so going up would not be too beneficial (unless perhaps it's rematches from the Super 6). Plus going down he'd lose his strength edge of pushing and leaning on his opponents. Ward at 175 would be like Ricky Hatton at 147.
