the problem is you have idiotic fan boys who support these fools because of their idol
Schaefer is worse than Arum. Arum at least admits he's a snake. I can't forget the fact that Schaefer attempted to stop the Chavez Martinez fight in favor of his Alvarez Lopez fight.

don't know why he needed to bring up the donaire-victor conte split as an example with regards to double standards.

it's just 2 guys deciding to part ways, don't know what's in it for the media to be crazy about?

looks like schaefer is getting so butthurt about his conflict with arum and top rank that he's even targeting top rank fighters. last time he brought up pac's ppv numbers when he was bitching about hbo and top rank.

I stopped reading when he talked about showtime and hbo. Well only showtime cause showtime has been show casing up and coming talent on it's showbox series for years. Which is why imo it is better than hbo.

So from September to December its Tuesday night fights. Cool. Nothing wrong with that but don't come out saying you're putting fights out on Monday night.

I beg to differ. It's all about track record. Bob Arum has been indicted for bribery. He used to work for the U.S. Justice Dept. He has used the media to engage in smear campaigns of fighters. He kept the fight between Mayweather and Pacquiao from happening out of pure hatred for Mayweather, tried to demonize drug testing in the sport and even falsified negotiations for the fight as a publicity stunt to sell another fight: http://www.fighthype.com/pages/content7987.html
When have Schaefer or GBP ever done any of the above things?

Bob messed up Juanma-Gamboa more than anyone else, he over-'marinated' that fight until Salido brought his right hand to town.

And Hauser was/is nothing but a TR shill, those hit pieces he did on HBO that contributed to Greenburg's exit were supposedly driven in part by Arum's anger when Greenburg did not attend John Arum's funeral.

2ndly Schaefer and Haymon's sweetheart deal with HBO under Greenburg almost tanked boxing on HBO. Greenburg bought up all the mismatches GBP was offering and over paying for fights. all the while other promoters had a hard time getting on HBO because Greenburg gave GBP 1st take for dates.
the boxing budget when from 100 million plus to around 40 million in the decade or so during Greenburg and Schaefer deal. lots of fans left the sport because of the non competitive fights.

think about it, HBO couldn't cough up 3 million for Juanma vs Gamboa when everybody wanted the fight but they were giving Andre Berto almost a million per apperance.

some years ago Thomas Hauser at secondsout boxing wrote a lot of great articles laying out the problems at HBO and how Greenburg's sweetheart deal with Schaefer and Haymon really sank HBO boxing.

I'm not hating, more boxing is great but if GBP and Haymon stay true to their past track record then a lot of those matches will just be mismatches and apperance fights.

personally I'd rather see a few good fights than have the market flooded with garbage fights. the fox deal is nothing new they used to have the same with univision. SoloBoxeo wasn't all great. usually just mismatches. I understand they are building young fighters but nobody like watching a fight when they know the outcome.

maybe GBP will step it up and I hope they do because that will be the best for boxing.

Everything I've read from him is usually quite objective and written in a style and manner that is above most of his peers. I read those articles Rey is talking about and they had a lot of merit. HBO has been putting together better fights since Greenberg left and they did the right thing in trying to break up GBP's efforts to monopolize the sport.

Your ad hominem attacks on Hauser only make you look bad. If you disagree with him, please explain why.

Already done so in the past. Read the article yourself and ask why Hauser names GBP and it's fighters constantly throughout those articles.

But when he cites Chavez Jr. testing positive, he makes NO MENTION of Top Rank or Bob Arum.

                    I'm sure that's just a coincidence huh?

                    Open-minded. LMAO.

Because he writes for both Maxboxing (which skews heavily towards TR) as well as TR itself.

Like I said, read those PEDs mess articles and ask yourself why Hauser names GBP and it's fighters constantly but when he brings up Chavez Jr. and his positive test for marijuana and furosemide, he conveniently forgets to inform readers that Chavez fights under TR/Arum. Not a single mention of Top Rank or Bob, but Hauser actually goes out of his way to sweep the marijuana use under the rug - also a coincidence huh?
