  • Jermain Taylor only person to FLOOR both Pavlik and Froch.

Taylor to this date is the only person to have floored both
    Carl Froch- only KD
    and
    Kelly Pavlik- only KD.

If only he had a granite chin and great stamina. He might have been the GOAT.

Taylor had great combination punching and very tidy power. He's underrated in that department for sure.

But as with many talents he had equal an amount of flaws. Fact is he wasn't a 12 round fighter in any way shape or form and it cost him at the top level against opponents who could hang around to the second half of the fight and start beating him up.

Does Pavlik and Froch have any other common opponents? Isn't Taylor the only one that fought both Pavlik and Froch?

Jermaine Taylor v Carl Froch, one of the best fights of the last few years.

thats the reason why B.Hop started so late against him....his power was too much early on...but JT doesn't have a world class tank so he's vulnerable late...when he slowed down...thats when the guys who beat him took over at

he was a uppercut or 2 away from stopping Pavlik in 2 rounds....I thought JT won the rematch 7-5 though...he was closer to beating Froch...smh...2 tough L's to swallow imo

Taylor always went out to win, he was athletic enough to be a boxer but he was a fighter

as much as i love taylor, he was never dedicated to boxing and developing his craft. even iwth a 12 round gas tank, he would still make the wrong decisions. taylor is proof that you need more than just physical talent to be a world championship level boxer.

that said, his two fights with hopkins were both close, and nobody can call them a robbery, even if there's a lot of people who think taylor didn't win.

taylor had a very heavy jab (the thing was flippin loud, he just stopped throwing it once he hit the top..) rambunctious right hand, and a pretty good left hook.

Had Taylor been a better athlete, then he would have possibly won both of those fights in which he was dominating. However, as been stated; He just couldn't seem to get second winds after gassing himself out in those bouts, due to poor stamina/conditioning.
