@NSB. Prime Roy Jones vs the 175 Legends. How will he do?

Roy is the GOAT at 168. The division is still a recently formed division and did not produce anywhere near the amount of ATG Fighters as it's Varsity counterpart(the LHW)

How will 175 Roy do against

    Ezzard Charles
    Michael Spinks
    Bob Foster
    Archie Moore

I omitted the older fighters, because the above four have plenty of video footage available and some of you probably seen them in action.

    The two non 175 Legends.

I will also like to add Michael Moorer.
He only had 22 fights at LHW against mediocre competition, but he was a massive 175LBER and dominated all 22 fights.

    Matthew Saad Muhammad
His resume and rankings is far below that of the first four, but I feel like his style and relentless pressure could make a fight interesting against Roy.

Beats them all. They're ATG's, and ranked higher than Roy, but Roy was a once in a generation type athlete/talent.

      I'll do how I think he'd fair against my Top 5;

      1. Ezzard Charles.

I'd expect Charles to win by decision. I don't see either getting stopping and Roy's athleticism, speed and boxing could trouble Charles as he's shown to have some issues with those things before. But I'd expect Charles timing, skills and technical superiority to get the nod.

      2. Archie Moore

Roy Jones by decision. Moore would have his moments without question and would get close but I think Roy would outbox him. Could definitely see Moore getting a late stoppage though. He had the power to change a fight at any moment.

      3. Gene Tunney

Tunney would pose similar problems as Charles perhaps more so with his foot movement. Tunney's not getting stopping by Roy and Tunney isn't stopping Roy either. I'd pick Tunney by split decision

      4. Micheal Spinks

Great, tactical fight. Spinks jab would be a problem for Roy but Roy's speed would give Spinks problems. Hard to pick, both highly skilled. Jones has the edge in foot and handspeed and athleticisim but Spinks had a share of those himself. If Spinks got inside, he'd have the better of Jones and he'd compete with him on the outside aswell mainly with his jab. Hard to pick but I'd go with Spinks by UD.

      5. Harold Johnson.

Hate to say but I'd expect Johnson to be up on the cards in a close fight and eventually stopped late by Roy. Johnson had a shakey chin at times, he can take a good shot and fought punchers and beat punchers but I'm not sure he's ever seen the speed and explosive power of Roy Jones and despite taking shots from legit Heavyweights in his day, I think he'd get to him and stop him. That said, not many had better timing than Johnson, his timing is what lead him to victory over Ezzard Charles and what allowed someone with such a short reach for a Light Heavyweight to never be outjabbed. His jab is definitely up there in LHW history and in general for that matter, as is his timing and technical ability. So there is no doubt in my mind he'd pose Roy Jones some serious problems. That said, I'd pick Roy Jones by late referee stoppage.

IMO, Moorer would beat Spinks quite handily.

Have you actually seen them fight?

Out of all the fighters, I'd give Moorer/Charles the best chances of beating Roy.

Roy Jones in his prime was one hell of a light heavyweight. I don't think the young Roy Jones had a weak chin either. I gave Foster and Spinks the edge over him because of their combination of speed, skill, and two handed power. I am not sure any of the others could beat him and I favor Jones over them because of his speed, power and skill. He should have retired long ago.

Roy beats every single one of them. NOONE TO EVER BOX is better than a Prime Roy Jones Jr. it's pretty much as simple as that.
