I guess I am in the small minority of those that voted no, Pacquiao should get more. If you are going by the history of their fights with each other then of course Marquez deserves 50%. It does not work that way these days. The fighter who brings in the most paying customers gets paid the most money. Few would argue that Pacquiao brings more pay for view customers to a fight than Marquez does. If Pacquiao was to fight Bradley or Alvarado those fights would make much more money than fights with Marquez fighting Bradley or Alvarado would make. Pacquiao is a bigger draw than Marquez and that's just the way it is.

oh it will work that way JMM at most has 1 more figth left and it looks like it wont be Pac. So if Pac doesnt want to be rember with his ass faceing up on the canvas he is going to have to pay JMM what he wants. Pac greed was his down fall he should have fougth Cotto with no cacthweigth. Why shouldn't he? i voted 60/40 in favor of Marquez because let's face it Pacquiao needs a fifth to redeem himself way more than Marquez needs it, so he could use that also to hes advantage.

I have been reading the comments in this tread and many think that Marquez would bring a huge amount of Mexican pay for view buyers to a 5th fight and contribute just as much to the profits of this fight as Pacquiao. Maybe they are right. In any case I think Pacquiao should just give Marquez the 50% he wants and try to get a good win over Marquez. After he was knocked out cold by Marquez I think he needs a fifth fight more than Marquez who is glad to leave things as they are. If he wants the rematch he may have to meet Marquez's terms.

If im marquez i would have done the same thing, and for me, that is the right thing, because he already made it clear he doesn't want none of the fifth part.

Given the closeness of the competition throughout the course of their 4 bouts (the conclusion of the 4th fight aside) and the fact that Marquez puts a ton of Mexican asses in seats whenever he fights, I don't see how anybody could make a claim that Marquez doesn't deserve 50% of the purse split.

If Manny and Top Rank want Marquez back in the ring for a 5th fight then they're going to have accept the fact that Marquez is Manny's equal, not just in terms of trading punches, but in terms of generating intrest.

solo20, I am not ashamed to be a big Pacquiao fan. I am also a big Marquez fan and have been a Marquez fan before I ever heard of Pacquiao. I am not a stan, whatever that is. I am a big boxing fan of many fighters and I have been a big boxing fan since the days of Floyd Patterson. I wish all the best for both Marquez and Pacquiao. I would like to see a 5th fight but if it does not happen it won't be a tough break for me. They will both be retired millionairs soon and I will follow the careers of other good young fighters.
