    His impact would be enormous...

...when he hits the canvas after eating a straight right from Dr. Steelhammer. No one would ever hear from him again.

Boxing would be the biggest sport on the planet. Ali would be the biggest star.

He didn't need the competition for that. Though, if you think Wlad or Vitali are dominant, you wouldn't want to see what Ali would do to so many of these pathetic excuses for heavyweights.

It would be sad to see a "legend" getting battered by today's also-rans, I suppose.

I look at Floyd Mayweather as the new Muhammed Ali, in the aspect of the villain. People forget how Ali was with opponents, the public (outside of his race) and the boxing business.

In time Mayweather be looked at as great as Muhammad Ali!

You act as if the Klitschko brothers are the first tall dominant boxers, but the past shows the likes of Ali,Tyson, Louis and Dempsey Demolished all the huge heavyweights they faught in their prime.

            Louis vs Carnera (6'6")
            Dempsey vs Willard (6'6")
Tyson vs Tucker (6'5") and Biggs (6'5")

I would say Dempsey, Tyson, Louis, And Ali would have handled Mr. Steelhammer.

Dempsey in my eyes, with dynamite in both hands and the brutal beating he gave Willard, I would say Dempsey would have KO'ed Wlad within 6. Saying that Dempsey was nowhere as skilled as Ali.

Those other big fighters didn't own the division for a decade. Comparing them to K2 is like comparing a Big Mac to a steak from Morton's. They're both beef, and that's about it.

Comparing Ali to guys like Chambers. Chagaev is like comparing a BIG Mac to a streak from (insert expensive restaurant of your region) ... They're both beef, and that's about it.

                  Ali couldn't carry Chamber's jockstrap.

You are offended by this thread because you somehow indirectly linked this thread into the 'insult a Klitscho' category. Why not just come out and say 'I find this thread offensive, not because I agree or disagree but because I feel this thread is an insult to my favorite heavyweights the k2'

Nowhere in this thread did I state Ali will destroy K2, nowhere did I state he will dominate K2. I just stated with a Prime Ali, Wladimir will be a PPV STAR. (A very likely scenario)

you can only fight who they put in front of you. obviously the answer is no. it was the same way for mike tyson early on. but this is a discussion of "impact on boxing" and not greatness.

tyson doesn't have a deep resume of prime "name" wins. he was still the baddest man on the planet, and an iconic figure across the world.

ali could start with a UD over both klitschko brothers, and move on from there. that's not a bad place to start. both brothers will be in the hall of fame, and wladimir is going to crack a few top 15 lists at HW.
