The Impact a Prime Muhammad Ali would have on boxing today.

Outside of the heavyweight division's radically changed landscape, I think Floyd would not have developed this 'Money May' persona at all. Because I just don't see any lower weight fighters being a cash cow with Prime Ali around. I think Prime Ali would have dramatically effected every area of boxing, it's a chain effect.

Ali is the cash cow superstar, the heavyweight division is back in it's rightful place at the top. Hence the lower weights like Floyd and Pacquaio are FORCED to fight all comers to make money. Floyd-Pac would have been a trilogy by now.

Ali would most likely had made boxing mainstream in America again, hence expanding the heavyweight talent pool from the States. Wladimir Klitschko would have became a PPV Star. David Haye vs Muhammad Ali would probably have made 2 Million+ Buys.

Massive Impact. Transcending. Global. Boxing is a premier sport in the States again.

    Floyd-Pac type impact. Big Superstar

1 Million+ Buy type of Heavyweight. Will make HW more popular, but not Pac-Floyd level

Low Impact. The HW Division is just not attractive enough anymore. Even Ali won't have mattered.

There have been plenty of lower weight cash cows in history, even when were good HW divisions.

not as big as the impact he had.

there are no sonny listons, George foremans, Joe Fraziers, ken nortons or Floyd Patterson's to conquer.

exactly...his legacy and impact was tied to those that fought him

        Ali-Arreola doesn't really strike up anyone's imagination

INCORRECT... Not only was his "legacy and impact" tied to those that fought him, but also what he stood for outside of the sport, not afraid to risk his life and CAREER for his beliefs and people throughout his entire career and beyond. Boxing was actually the platform thru which he did these things.

He's still one of the most talked about, wrote about, movies and documentaries made about boxers in the sport even amongst casual fans outside of Mike Tyson to this day.

          He's still relevant.

it wouldnt be the same because the social/political happenings of that era had a lot to do with ali's fame. also take into account that boxing isnt on network tv anymore.

prime tyson would have a bigger impact in 2013 than prime ali.

get real. we both know damn well that you cant see elite fights on channel 4 5 or 7 every weekend like back then. tell me the last time you saw an important/top-level fight on network tv.

you really think he would be as great if instead of the Foremans, Listons, Fraziers on his resume, it was Arreola, Tony Thompson, and Corey Sanders?
