Comments Thread For: Photo: Kessler Sparring With Sulecki For Froch Rematch

WBA "regular" super middleweight champion Mikkel Kessler (46-2, 35 KOs) is sparring hard with undefeated Polish prospect Maciej Sulecki (13-0, 3 KOs), who many consider to be a top boxer in Poland. Kessler will look to get a repeat victory over IBF champion Carl Froch (30-2, 22 KOs) on May 25th at the O2 Arena in London. Kessler won a twelve round unanimous decision over Froch in Denmark as part of the Super Six tournament in 2010.

If Kessler can use more of his boxing skill and not do so much trading, I think he he'll hold his own against Froch again. Notice I said, "hold his own" and not "win." No way Kessler is getting a decision in Nottingham. He's gonna have to get the KO in order to leave England with that W. Can anybody say, trilogy???

Kessler has KO'd his last two opponents, and Froch has admitted Kessler hurt him in their first bout. I'm not certain he doesn't get a KO. There's every chance this one won't go 12 rounds.

Good thing they aren't fighting in Nottingham then. I hate this talk "no way he's getting a decision" - cut that talk out of boxing. The best man on the night should get the win, decision or not.

If Kessler comes out boxing and moving, Froch won't be able to cope. If he slugs, it's 60/40 in Froch's favour.

Kessler was probably at his career worst coming into the fight against Froch. He has improved a lot since then, his jab is sharper, he's gone back to the straight 1-2 as you saw against Magee. Uses body punches again (to be fair that worked great against Froch in the first fight) - So i don't really see how you can say he has regressed. There's no evidence of that.

Froch has KO'd his last two as well.

Also why is Kessler sparring some featherfisted bum?
