HBO gave Alvarado credit for landing punches that weren't hurting Rios because he was landing punches, while Brandon didn't land nothing clean but jabs the second half of the fight.

I am a huge Rios fan but come on, HBO was expecting Rios to beat Alvarado and probably fight Pacquiao. They wouldn't be trying to shut down a fighter on the verge of stardom for no reason.

Rios simply didn't do **** for 2/3 of the fight and HBO called it like it was.
lol, what did ppl expect? rois demonstrated in front of everyone how limited of a fighter he is. thats the problem with ppl on this site. everyone talks about how hbo is trying to find the next slick black boxer, the same could be said of the way they market mexican fighters like rios. hes not barrera or morales. ****, hes not even margarito. hes way too limited, closer to arturo gatti imo. if they want, they can absolutely market him as that. but hes simply not the other thing.

Atleast that is how I am. Staying completely unbiased can be hard but I'm sure we could all do it if we were getting paid to just comment on the fight.

And also hearing people comment on the fight shouldn't affect your view on the fight unless your ******ed or not paying complete attention to the fight lol
Exactly, bro. We're all guilty of it. The idea is not to go overboard with it.

The judges can't hear the commentators so it has no effect on them. I thought it was a close fight that could've gone either way.

still putting down margarito to downplay floyd's ducking? let's see what did he ever do....he beat 7 top 10 ranked welterweights. that's 2 more than mitchell, judah, baldomir, hatton, ortiz, and guerrero combined. margarito was ranked #1 for over 4 years. margarito won the wba, wbo, and ibf belts. margarito beat a prime cotto who floyd ducked and retired instead of fighting. margarito is the only person to cleanly beat sergio martinez. yeah sorry he wasn't as accomplished as a guy like judah who was 1-5 against ranked welters.
