This is the problem rite here... Who was talking about how many people showed up?
Shiming is garbage and you're talking about how many people showed up? I dont care if nobody showed to Rigs first fight, and a billion showed for Shiming. The Xs and Os of it is Shiming is hyped up garbage and Rig is the truth compared to him but he gets no luv.
Arum will milk his ass and continue to hype him, while killing real boxing....

He got skills but his defense is very open and he tends to slap with his punches. These are bad flaws to have in the pros, a lot of guys are willing to punch with you to get their shots in and if they don't respect your power, you're in trouble.

Obviously Arum knows what he's doin if that many people showed up to his fight and there is so much hype around him in China. Obviously he's no Rigondeaux but trying to expand boxings market to China isn't "killing" boxing, quite the opposite actually.

This exactly, he has skills but with no power to get someones respect, he will get run over

The problem for me is he is 31. If he was 21 or closer to it would think he has a decent upside coming.

So hyping/lying to sell this guy as an example of "Now this is boxing, this guy has talent!!" isn't killing boxing?
While Bob is telling these same people "The only way a guy like Rigo can be a star is Castro promotes him"?
FOOK THE MONEY, look at what they are pushing down our throats. And it's funny how you guys understand the money aspect when its a fighter/promo company you support/like.

He didn't look spectacular. It was his first pro fight, in front of a big crowd, with MILLIONS watching. I expect more from him as he gets a few more wins under his belt.

I can't believe dude made 300K for that fight.

Basically this. He's definitely not garbage, he's just already up there in age and I'm not sure he has enough years to make some kind of great run in the pros, while there's so much to learn about this side of the sport. I think Top Rank had the right idea to try to expand with China, and I know they had a great turnout, but I'm just not sure how far this guy will go (although, do note it was his first pro fight...give the guy a break). And lol @ killing the sport - when that many people gather to watch boxing, nothing about the sport is dying, lol. I guess numbers only matter to TS when Floyd's involved.
