Will Zou Shiming really be a big star in America?

I hear ppl say he could be the next Pacman and become a megastar. I'm sure the Chinese will love him but what makes ppl think he'll be a hit in America???? Casual fans won't be checking for a 31 year old 111 pounds boxer no matter how good he is. He's just too small to become a mainstream star.

I understand Arum is after the chinese market. It's quite fascinating how extremely hyped up his debut is. You'd think it's the worlds greatest boxer that will enter his first fight

    No, he wont

He's being fully positioned to be a Chinese star, which is why he's getting 300K in his debut

Too small. Unless he packs power like Prince Naseem or has an assault rifle like attack like Pacquiao, then I don't see it happening.

No and I don't think its Top Rank's intent to make him one.

The positive thing that can come out of this is that it will present more lucrative opportunities for top fighters in the lower weight divisions.

He definitely has a very novel and awkward style. He deceptively moves away and then strikes. Needs to tighten up that defense. Like many roach fighters his primary means of defense is a **** ton of movement

He isnt being set up to be a star in the US

If he becomes a star in China, he's set for life

A lot of people refuse to acknowledge this because of our often western-centric points of view
