    what happened to Christain Mijares?

Going into his fight with Vic Darchynian in 2008 Mijares was being touted as a future p4p number one. He then lost that fight and two more back to back. He seems to be all but forgotten now as I hardly ever hear him spoken about anymore even though he has been fighting decent fighters and regularly. What's the story?

he didnt have the physicals to keep up with the elite and his boxing wasnt good enough to make up the physical limitations.

Rigondeaux will be following his path shortly.

Vic Darchinyan ruined him. I remember watching that fight live, I didn't know that much about Mijares and I had seen Darchinyan destroy a Russian dude before that fight, which was the first time I saw Darchinyan, it was 2008 I think. So I was going for Darchinyan and didn't understand why Mijares had so much hype and Darchinyan was the underdog. 2008 was when I started getting in to those smaller weight fights. Mijares got decked like how many times? It was embarrassing, he came in all smiling and full of confidence. Got humbled quickly and was never the same.

Vic basically ruined him. He did just stop Rafael Marquez but he didnt look particularly good doing it. He's been on a nice win streak but hasnt faced any real good fighters and seems to be getting back into it with Terrazas

The Vic loss really ruined him. He had been kicking ass and looking incredible for years before that fight. He beat Cermeno clearly in the fight after Vic, but got robbed, then lost the rematch. He has won another title and set up a decent win streak but he's not the same anymore. The motivation and determination is gone. Great fighter at his peak though. Incredibly skilled.
