Comments Thread For: Donaire Spars 12 Rounds, Submits to VADA Testing

Junior featherweight world champion Nonito Donaire had a busy Tuesday, completing an intense 12 rounds of sparring, a strength and conditioning workout, and ending the afternoon with a random drug test.

Donaire (31-1, 20 KOs) is in the final week of preparation leading up to his HBO-televised April 13 showdown in New York City’s Radio City Music Hall for 122-pound supremacy with fellow titleholder Guillermo Rigondeaux (11-0, 8 KOs).

9 days to go!!! Never been this excited leading up to a fight in a long time. One of those super fights where you can't pick a clear winner. Visualizing both in the ring, it's going to be like watching two cats fighting. The speed, skill and power is going to be off the charts.

I wonder when the hell will Pacquiao take OSTs for even one fight? He can't retire like that. Especially given how drug infested this era is and the PED drama that surrounds him.

      Blows my mind.

        legend.

i can't wait for the rigo fight. it's without a doubt the most significant fight of this year.

the pay grade isn't there because they're so small. if these two were middleweights this would be a ppv fight. if donaire were a MW his power would be scary...

What PED drama exactly surrounds Pacquiao besides a lawsuit he clearly won in which the defendants settled out of court?

              lets say manny is clean.

he takes rantom blood tests for his last fight against marquez. it's the first time he's ever had the random blood testing, and thus it's seen as the only time he can be proven to be clean. he gets blasted, and looks bad, the way he did in their last fight. he can't take the punches.

people will assume that he was dirty in the past based off of his poor performance with the OST, if when he's clean been clean all along.

that's the reason. that, and you don't concede something like that in any negotiation.

if you're arum, and you aren't obligated to do something that could damage you (have a fighter fail an olympic test,) why would you agree to it?

you wouldn't do it simply because floyd mayweather jr says so. there has to be a reason. that's how a negotiation works.

Seriously though lol. 5 years later and people are still trying to make Pacquiao the poster boy for PEDs when countless other fighters are being caught (one in Floyd's actual camp lol). It's irrelevant if you have no smoking gun or actual proof, it's just a biased argument based on your feeling towards that particular fighter...and people admit that. Can one be su****ious of Pacquiao? Sure, but you still have no proof at all. It's easier to call Margarito a cheat because he was caught red handed trying to clobber Mosley with plaster. It would be one thing if Pac had a history of PED use, but there's absolutely none besides what a former heroin dealer / fighter made up in the media. Pacquiao refused OST from Floyd...Pacquiao's a cheat. Floyd turned down a 60/40 deal to fight Pacquiao...Floyd's a p*ssy. Pick sides if you'd like for another 5 years.
