That's why timing is important in boxing, Macklin can wait and fight lee, Murray or barker in a tournament in the UK, Barker was still offering Macklin the fight last week, HBO didn't force *****, if Macklin didn't want to fight GGG he wouldn't fight him...

He has 3 other British middleweights that he could eventually fight and they would all be huge fights over there.
He probably wouldn't make his promoter happy by bailing on his date, in addition to HBO. I guess he could go back to Britain, and Lou is probably big enough to let him get out of his contract. Still wouldn't be a good look.

This is Golovkin's coming out party.

He's going to destroy Macklin IMO.

after chavez jr beats his next tomato can,and GGG blows through macklin. Highlio chavez jr will duck GGG again. HBO will serve themselves good in 2013 if they pressure Arum to make the fight.

Quite possible, also read today that Chavez Jr stated that he IS interested in a Golovkin fight, don't know if he is just name dropping or what? It would be possible for a date in Sept that GGG has available with HBO.

Oh my god. Who's your favorite fighter? You can say that about any fan of any fighter

I like how detractors always say "WHO HAS HE FOUGHT?!" ..... do you realize NO FIGHTER IN THE HISTORY OF THE WORLD has just started their career and began fighting the #1 P4P fighters in the sport....... every boxer, EVER, came from SOMEWHERE and had to work their way up. Are people serious with this? lulz

Martinez fought about 35 bums before he fought Cintron. Do you like him?

Floyd fought 24 bums before he fought Corrales. Do you like him?

Andre Ward fought 20 bums before fighting Miranda. Do you like him?

MARQUEZ FOUGHT 30 BUMS BEFORE HE FOUGHT PACQUIAO. And actually LOST TO ONE OF THEM (freddie Norwood. Who? brb GGG haters gonna call JMM a p4p top fighter tho. but GGG cant be? silliness) Do you like him?

Bernard Hopkins fought 20-25 bums before he fought Roy Jones Jr. Do you like him?

Danny Garcia fought 20 bums before fighting Kendall Holt........IN 2011. oh and after that "his next big step up" was 7 loss Morales. Hardly unbeatable. Yet he got his shot against Khan and you all were FINE with it. Oh and what ended up happening? He just so happened to BEAT Khan, take his belt and become a "p4p fighter." He got his chance after fighting bums, just like ALL the aforementioned fighters, can you just let GGG get his chance? jeez.

So It's one of two things here: Either all of those fighters I mentioned are NOT and NEVER were P4P fighters, but due to unexplainable reasons, the...lets just say the "GGG haters" consider them P4P fighters, great boxers, world-class talent, ETC ETC.

OR: you guys (not necessarily anyone in this thread, didnt even read it besides a few posts and this one..... but all of these fools in general on NSB who post straight nonsense ( such as who has he beat, euro level fighter, etc ) are just straight, flat out, undeniably HATING.

Which one is it? There's so much goddamn hypocrisy and double standards when it comes to boxing and "foreign" AKA European (all of the dudes I'm talking about just so happen to hate euros and happen to be american) (no hate. not talking about american fight fans as a whole, just the bad apples) fighters, it's absolutely ridiclous and impossible to read on here without just (Face_palming)

Some one for the love of god please explain to me what is the difference between ALL of those guys I mentioned, coming up and fighting 20-25 club fighter bums til they got their chance, and a guy like GGG? (WHO JUST SO HAPPENS TO ALREADY BE A CHAMPION AND ARGUABLY ALREADY STEPPED UP MORE AT THIS POINT IN HIS CAREER THEN ANY OF THOSE GUYS I MENTIONED AT THIS POINT IN THEIRS) ......

I'll tell you what: Those guys all started their careers in America and fought American bums, where as GGG started his career in Europe and fought European bums...... WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE? To the posters I'm mentioning in this thread, I can only come to the conclusion that you think American's have some superiority/european fighters are inferior to American counterparts; (c'mon really? and these are poeple considered "good posters")

If that's the case, it Absolutely boggles my mind that people here could think that a boxer is simply "better" or more relevant then another just because of where he started his career and the nationality of the fighters he fought before he "stepped up" (because that is what it's about, no?) and that goes for ANYONE in ANY part of the world who feels that way about their local/national fighters (countrymen) compared to foreign fighters.

Straight ignorance, hypocrisy and double-standards at their finest.

Again, I am only talking to certain posters who troll every thread and say the most absolute rubbish stuff in every thread. To those posters: "GGG haters" we will call them. if you actually read this post, please dissect this post and now tell us again what the problem with GGG, his career, how he's come up so far, how he stepped up so far, why you dont think he should get opportunities to show his talent against so called "p4p" fighters, etc, lack of respect for a guy who's done everything he's supposed to thus far and is actually a humble dude who wants to fight everyone (keep in mind he's had over 300 amateur fights and was considered by most overseas to become a top-class fighter one day in his pro career) and what's with the hypocrisy and double-standards?

Also are those fighters I mentioned not really "P4P fighters" and never were, or do you just hate GGG? ( would absolutely lol' if someone says...bb..buut "they have talent, you can just tell from watching them...regardless of the bums they also fought just like GGG in their first 20 or so fights before they got their big opportunity/chance.................. because if that's the case: you can't see that GGG has legit talent/ability to be competitive with anyone in the world in his division/154/168 then, regardless of who he's fought?)

btw most people say "ggg fans are annoying/crazy" ....... uhhhhh SORRY for fight fans having to defend one of their favorite fighter with facts due to the fact that people discredit him for ABSOLUTELY NO REASON when compared to other boxers who get "praised" yet came from the same background, and did nothing different to start their careers (besides having a successfull amateur career and knocking out 23 of their first 26 pro opponents). cmon now...... And if any oft those boxers i mentioned deserved any kind of hype at the point in their careers to right where they landed their first "big step up fight" .... SURELY GGG does as well, so what;s the problem?

too long; didn't read. I know, I know. (no hate against any of those boxers either, im a fan of most..... just pointing out the clear hypocrisy. )

Bickering like little ****** children. Adorable.

Hate to say this, but I give it to GGG by late TKO. Sure, Macklin showed he could box, but I don't think his ability to box is any better than GGG's ability to box. Macklin has decent power, but probably not enough to keep GGG off him.

                Pullin' for Matt anyway...

Macklin has a chance, it's a great test for Golovkin.

people forget Golovkin has been KOing of bums but he never dropped Ouma or Rosado( a guy Angulo totally blasted)

if Macklin wants to stand and trade with Golovkin it's over but if he listens to McGirt and boxes he should be able to beat Golovkin.

all Macklin has to do is keep turning Golovkin and popping him when he starts throwing wide. Golovkin's problem is he needs to be set in order to have his power. Golovkin's most dangerous rounds are the 1st 4 rounds, after that he starts to tire. just look how Rosado was backing him up in round 5.
but the cuts killed him in the end.

if you can make it out of the 1st 4 rounds against Golovkin you have a good chance at beating him. it's just making out of the 1st 4

Good post. It's weird that since I'm a fan of Golovkin I must be a noob! I love all types of fighters, Hopkins for example is the anti-Golovkin (technical, defense, hardly any power anymore ) and I love guys like Rigondeaux etc. I also appreciate big punchers like Golovkin.

Do I think Golovkin is unbeatable? Of course not. All I care about is he gets a chance and we get to see him more often. Yet somehow every discussion becomes who has he fought, he will get schooled by Sergio etc.

The day the news Rigondeaux defected I was rocking him in my sig cuz I've seen him fight in the Olympics and knew about him and now look he's fighting D pi Donaire. Same ish with him,.people say who has he fought, his fans arw bandwagoners etc. So annoying.
