Did Delahoya get a gift decision over Pernell Whitaker?

Was it a robbery? Was it a close fight? Was Delahoya really being effective or landing much? Or was Whitaker just out pointed?

Also does anyone know why Delahoya always has controversial decision when it comes to slick fighters?? It is just has style? IE, Floyd and Whitaker, Shane

It was a close fight, but I felt as though DLH lost the fight. He flurried at the end of each round but was not effective at all. But those flurries definitely infuenced the judges.

Oscar whipped his ass worse than Chavez did! I Still can't believe they gave Whitaker a gift draw against Chavez

I have watched that fight a few times and I think Oscar won. Pernell is super slick and Oscar missed a lot but Pernell didn't do enough himself to win the fight.

He won the defensive battle but didn't do enough overall to win the fight IMO.

No, but it was close, very close, could have went either way. I respect the decision, more so in that Oscar wasn't showboating or clowning around knowing the fight was still up in the air. Just being real man, and Pernell Whitaker is probably my favorite fighter of all time.

Personally thought Pernell won it by a fine line that is, to me way I seen it was although Whittaker wasn't being the active aggressor he was making ODLH miss a whole lot of punches and making him look pretty ****** to me I think he won.

I wouldn't say Sweet Pea got robbed but I feel he definitely won the fight. Also there was nothing controversial at all about PBF beating De la Hoya except for that one judge who scored the fight for De la Hoya. When I heard that scorecard all I thought was they about to do PBF just like they did Sweet Pea when he fought Chavez Sr.
