I guess it would help if some of the people on this forum would actually try training/boxing. Then we wouldn't have idiotic threads like this.

First of all, a heavy bag is not a speed bag, which tests one's speed. Second, you're looking at a short clip of a much, much longer workout. Third, his technique looks solid as hell here.

Uh Ohhhhhh looks like the so called "experts" is wrong again lol

          HEAVY BAG
Fighters quickly learn that throwing power punches means getting your whole body involved in the process. It's not enough to use your arms and fists. You must start the punch with the power in your legs, your torso, upper body and shoulders in addition to your arms and fists. Hit the bag for three minutes at a time -- the same amount of time in a boxing round -- and then take a one-minute break before hitting the bag again. This will help you develop your power punching.

Not the same... Pacquiao actually goes balls to the wall at times on the heavybag... Floyd never goes balls to the wall, as far as speed, on the heavybag. He does cardio drills, technique drills, and just works the bag. He puts his real effort into the mitts, jump rope, strength training, and running.

Floyd looks just fine and who knows what he was even trying to accomplish at that exact moment in time.

Floyd has some bizarre training routines, but they work for him.

A better exercise than criticism is to figure out what he is actually trying to do in that routine and how that helps him train~ because I am sure Floyd knows more about training to be a high level fighter than everybody on this whole forum .

That's the thing, though: what he's doing in that video is not bizarre at all. Only someone who has no knowledge of training would argue otherwise.

A lot of times you don't want to start off hitting the heavy bag as hard as you ****ing can. Similarly, you don't necessarily start hitting the speed bag as fast as you can. In the video, Floyd is clearly either (a) warming up or (b) practicing technique.

the point to it is endurance, doesn't all have to be powershots, but you should always be moving your hands
