I thought those positives were a rumor. AT least thats the word both authors of the articles referencing the positives used. RUMORS.

Why did you parse only that piece of my post? Taken by itself, you are trying to imply that was the focus of the post when in fact it was only one point. Try reading either article.

Lets try and stick close to the thread topic.

The topic is about taxes. You diverted it to another.

Didn't your idol spend millions of dollars trying to prove Pacman was on peds? Wasn't he forced to settle the case when your idol can't provide the ped results of his last three fights requested by his rival's attorneys? Why do you think he settled?

this isnt the topic of the thread. Floyd isnt my idol, magic johnson is. I dont know how much floyd spent to prove manny was on PED's. I don't know why the case was settled. I haven't thought about why the case was settled.

The topic is manny fighting outside the US to avoid taxes. I answered that it was a possibility that is why he will fight outside the US. the other reason could be the more stringent testing in Vegas.

What made you think it's about stringent testing when Marquez or any opponent of the Pacman don't give a **** about testing? They're warriors. Your idol is a sissy. In any event, why do care so much when your idol gets away with positive test results? I don't get it. Especially when coming from a Floyd stan. Educate me.

You guys have it all wrong-or at least not quite right. Either all, or a specific percentage of the tax that Pacquiao pays in America is rebated from his Philippines tax due. This is the same for many 1st world countries. They stopped demanding double taxation years ago.

SO instead of $25 mil in vegas and getting $15 mil, manny will get $20 mil in china and keep almost all of it. Reasonable and a smart business move.

I will assume Manny and his team are being genuine about the money (which many of his fans swore he didn't fight for). There is also something else going on in Nevada.

The Nevada comission is looking into making their drug testing more stringent. Instead of allowing a 6:1 testosterone ratio (I believe) they are changing it to 4:1. It may just be accidental timing but it bears noting that manny and his team are discussing moving completely to Asia at a time when the Vegas and the US is making testing more stringent.

Why the TS wants to avoid discussing it, the yahoo article discusse how this gives manny the opportunity to fight lower profile fighters for easy money.
You have to get your little 'stab" in, don't you. Weell..I believe that Arum announced that he was considering venues abroad as soon as the new tax rate was announced. Or even before. It's no secret that many high income earners have been moving abroad for some years now, including relinquishing their U.S. citizenships.

It benefits the fighter and is detrimental to the promoter.

*****'s new tax rate is 39.6% (I read that with other taxes inclusive it amounts to just under 42%). i recall some years ago that there was a huge outcry from all professional sports figures, managers, advisors etc. Their reasoning-which was an excellent one- was that since professional athletes (I thik they were centring on boxing) had a very short earning life, that their taxes should be reduced to normal levels, and stretched out over a normal working lifetime. I thought that the various countries had done something on that line.

This was brought about because there was a festering sore amongst boxers, over the Joe Louis scandal, where he boxed for the various War Effort fund drives, for free, but was stioll taxed as if he had kept the money. The result was that he had to make a comeback, and all his earnings were garnished by the IRS. He may have died still up to his neck in debt to them, but I seem to recall that at the end, his debt may have been cancelled.

It was an outrage and went on for many years. I thought it had been replaced with a more lenient system for athletes.
