I think what we are seeing is GBP taking a step back from their stance. Lets face it. GBP and Al tried to strong arm HBO. We all saw it happening for the past few years. It was not shocking to me when HBO said enough was enough. That was only the final straw. We saw the buildup taking place long before. We saw Arum *****ing to the Media on how HBO was up GBP's a$$ and giving them most of the dates. GBP was playing tough forcing HBO to give them a certain number of fights per year etc. How were they forcing it? Most likely by threatening to take their business elsewhere. Over time they started putting more fights on showtime hoping HBO would come crawling on their hands and knees. Instead they got a middle finger from them!LOL

The Difference between GBP and Arum? Arum is a snake and will willingly admit to being so. GBP tries to act like the good guy but everyone knows that under the presentation, is a worse type of snake ready to bite.

Boxing is a dirty and lucrative business, but yet and still I'd love to see those Pacquiao numbers.

I like Showtime. Shameless, Homeland, and GBP boxing. HBO has Game of Thrones which is for horny nerds and boxing will leave their airwaves by 2015.

        Long live GBP.

All this crap does nothing but hurt the sport and the pockets of all the companies involved.

I totally agree with you. GBP hasn't started feeling the repercussions yet and won't because they have a good stable of fighters to last them a couple of years of good business with Showtime, but HBO and even Top Rank are experienced and well established organizations in the boxing community and GBP won't last very long trying to do things exclusively with Showtime. As much as Showtime is benefiting from all of this, they don't have the budget nor the popularity to become an HBO-like powerhouse in the sport. They never have and never will.

                  What a dumb hypocrite.

HBO has Pacquiao and Game of Thrones, That single handedly is better than all of Showtimes programming combined
I don't know If I can co-sign on pacquiao lol.

                  But the facts are

                  - HBO has about 10 million more subscribers, give or take.

                  - Game of Thrones is the best show, which single handedly wipes out any Showtime programming. Cause let's be honest, Dexter is not on the same level, neither is Homeland or Shameless. Check the Neilsen ratings it's not even close. I think GOT has like 3x the viewers/episode than those shows.

                  - HBO is bigger and has excellent production for their fights. Bradley and Pro did as good as Rios/ Alvarado, I don't know if a high profile Showtime fight will get close to those numbers.

Because Canelo is biting off more than he can chew with the demands he always makes (i.e. trying to force feed a Mayweather fight, or the "I'm not going to fight on the Mayweather undercard, etc.).

We can almost guarantee that Canelo is going to be a superstar and a force to be reckoned with, but he is too demanding at this point of his career. He needs to let his promoter's do the negotiating and stop being a little *****.

If you were HBO, who would YOU have chosen for that date Canelo vs. Lopez or Martinez vs. Chavez Jr.? Think about it bro. That's not a hard one to choose.

I'll go with whomever is having the best fights. None of that Broner, Canelo, and Pacquiao bs where you're just using catchweights, fighting bums etc...
