This is a pretty good action packed card. Surprised ppl are panning it.

i agree. At least it has potential to be action packed. I think who they pick for Gary Russell could put this card over the top because you hardly EVER see a card with 3 good fights (in fact I can't think of the last time I've seen it).

But i think there is already a good chance for 2 with the co feature but russells fight is unlikely

The Russell whining is over the top in this thread. This is a solid card regardless who Russell fights.

This would be a pretty big win for Chaves, but I don't think he has the length or speed to keep up with Thurman. He might turn out to be a Saldivia and not a Matthysse in terms of his chin/punch resistance too.

I'm really rooting for Soto-Karass in this one. He had a pretty impressive outing against Aydin, and Berto, while much more physically gifted, is a similar fighter that Soto is capable of beating.

Golden Boy Promotions CEO Richard Schaefer has advised BoxingScene.com that a Showtime televised tripleheader is taking shape for the month of July. The card will take place on July 20th or July 27th - with Florida, New York and California in the running to host the card.

In the main event, former IBF/WBC welterweight champion Andre Berto (28-2, 22 KOs) will face Mexico's Jesus Soto-Karass (27-8-3, 17 KOs). Undefeated Keith Thurman will get the stiffest test of his career in the co-feature, when he faces interim-WBA welterweight champion Diego Chaves (22-0, 18 KOs). Rounding out the tripleheader is rising featherweight contender Gary Russell Jr. (22-0, 13KOs), who faces an opponent to be determined.
