Rosado didn't give him any problems though. Golovkin beat the holy hell out of him and had him out out there halfway through the fight. There was like one round where Rosado didn't get the **** kicked out of him.

Use the Ouma fight if you're going to use something to talk about Golovkin struggling with defense. Not Rosado.

Well, that's because he wasn't able to land anything significant most of the time, but that's an indictment of his boxing skill, not necessarily his power. There were several punches that Chavez landed that moved Martinez like I've never seen Martinez been moved before pre-12th round, but the problem was he couldn't land enough of them.

I'm not trying to hype up Andy Lee's chin, but he still hasn't been dropped in his entire pro career and the Vera stoppage was a pretty early. Rubio also has a pretty sturdy chin. Pavlik didn't drop him as far as I can remember, and it was stopped simply because he was being terribly outclassed. He also stopped Manfredo (who was actually the same weight as Chavez for once), and I think Bika was the only guy who legitimately stopped Manfredo before. (again, I'm not trying to hype up Manfredo, but he's not worst or better than most Golovkin opposition)

But the comparison in size between Chavez and Martinez, is enough to amaze me how Martinez walked him down. Martinez is a beast. I dont see anyone beating him.
They were excellent opponents for Chavez' progression, but they weren't excellent fighters. Neither guy was top 10, for a reason.

Maybe so, I hope you guys crapping on him this week change your tune if he decides to fight him though.

Froch never dropped Bute either. Very similar fighters, Bute and Lee, about 2 levels apart.

I think what you mean is he gasses in the middle rounds which could be true but so does Martinez.

Also you need to take into account the fact that GGG is improving technically and gaining more experience while Martinez is getting older. Dude is pushing 40 and has a dodgy knee. GGG will not fight a peak Martinez.
He gasses because he's never gone 12 rounds and most of his fights (mostly goat farmers) have gone five or less. And yes he did gas against Ouma, he stopped Ouma (on his feet) because he was also tired and worn from all the damage he'd taken. Anyone can tell that GGG was mentally and physically fatigued in that fight given the sloppiness of the last few rounds.

Also, Sergio doesn't tire in the middle-rounds, he just lowers the tempo and hits second wind in the final third. Against Chavez, he didn't take any breaks though, he fought the full 12 rounds.

I'd like you to point me to this consensus. I highly doubt the savvy TR matchmakers set him up for a consensus loss 3 months before his first HBO PPV with the champ.

But yea, that's the only reason anyone gave Lee a chance, cause they thought Chavez was a total bum. Chavez won, so he must be a destroyer?

Did you catch Andy's last bout, btw?
