Can't say I'm familiar with this guy but I was gonna ask why Arum is wasting his time with this guy then I thought to myself the same point hougigo brought up.Originally posted by BennySTQuote:

Yep. Or he was 31 at the Olympics so I'm just guessing he's now 32. He didn't even win either.

so he's fighting a guy, Eleazar Valenzuela, who's coming of a draw against a guy with a 1-11 record. I guess Arum set this one up as a KO win for Zou Shiming..Comment

Is this Bob cashing in or cashing out on Shiming? I think the plan is to not make Shiming the star, but to use him to open up the entire chinese market. The guy is 32 in a small weight divison, he's got far less time then anyone else to make a mark.Comment

A little bit too late for a 33yo olympic gold medalist to become a world champion as pro! In a year, he should have just 5 to 7 fights if he would fight every 3 months, and I think he will be still green ro fight a veteran champion like Viloria, Brian will blast him away! I hope he is as good as Rigo if he's following his steps! For the meantime, his debut fight proves nothing agaisnt a boxer with mediocre record considering that he is being groomed for world championship bout next year!

It would be nice to see a Chinese fighter have to work his way up like everyone else but I guess sideshows still sell, reminds me of how fight promoters in the States still try and find that elusive white American heavyweight contender.Comment
