I think Trout has underrated pop too. He stunned Cotto multiple times and was hurting him badly to the body. He was on the verge of getting him out of there.

Not saying he's going to knock Alvarez out cold because he won't be I could definitely see him exposes a weakness in his chin if it's there.
We must have been watching a completely different fight because at no point did I get that feeling.

Well, he visibly stunned him with single shots to the head.

I'm guessing you're saying you didn't get the feeling he was on the verge of stopping him.

Well, he was certainly feeling the body shots from Trout. Specifically the straight left to the stomach. He was getting broken down with that shot.

I must admit I did watch the fight on a rather choppy stream, might have to give it another viewing on a clearer version.

Cotto is famous for gassing, you don't think that had anything to do with it?

wouldnt be that surprising, anything can happen in boxing. trout should be the favourite anyway because canelo hasnt fought anybody as good as cotto let alone beaten somebody of that level. but this is a good fight and will answer questions about canelo.

He could hurt him with body shots, you're right that he looked to be breaking Cotto down with it. But man, that would say something if Trout genuinely hurt Alvarez to the point of having him in position to stop him.

He did look to be genuinely hurting Cotto with body shots, not just tiring him with them.

Watch it again and see what you think on another view.

He didn't hurt him to a degree where he was about to take a knee but from what I see he certainly has hurt to the body and wasn't enjoying them at all.

And obviously he stunned him to the head.

Point being, he's not as feather fisted and people make out. I could definitely see him hurting Canelo. Canelo's chin is completely untested and although he was still very young, he's been badly hurt before.
