Comments Thread For: Terence Crawford Could Fight Again as Early as July

Shortly after Terence Crawford's (20-0, 15KOs) victory over Colombian slugger Breidis Prescott, Top Rank CEO Bob Arum said that he would like to see the 25-year-old return in the summer. Crawford, a late replacement, moved up to junior welterweight to win a ten round unanimous decision over Prescott.

Crawford will likely move back down to the lightweight division where he campaigned most of his career. Arum mentioned tough Mexican Raymundo Beltran as a potential opponent for his next fight. Beltran would of course have to win his April fight in Austin, TX for the fight to be possible.

A talented young fighter that's slick, has the ability to trade in the pocket, and seems to have a ring I.Q. to be competitive with the top contenders. Exactly what boxing needs.

I like the Ray Beltran idea. That would be a good next fight for Crawford.

He can be a solid force in the LW division.

Looking forward to seeing him again?

Was the Prescott fight at 135 or 140? 140 wasn't it?

            yeah it was.

He looked great. In the first round I thought he was going to get tagged and badly hurt while trading with Prescott but I underestimated him horribly.

So he's going back down to 135 then?

He could be a force at 135

As much as I like the idea of that fight, there's no way Team Vazquez takes that fight. 1. Crawford just beat the breaks off of Prescott (scary) & 2. Their arguement would be that he needs to earn the title shot with a few more noteable wins. He'll have a strap before long though. 135 is dying and needs bigs fights.
